“You don't get to choose for everyone, montanadave. I get to vote too, and am going to support common sense restrictions. You don't get to support "rights" for irresponsible people that kill little boys and girls. I have the right to try to keep you from doing it.”

“You most certainly have the right to support "common sense" restrictions, I merely caution you to educate yourself regarding which restrictions have actually had an impact on violent crime.
As for the second portion of your comment, I don't support the right of any irresponsible person to own a firearm, which would have included Adam Lanza's mother. She chose to keep unsecured firearms in a home with a family member suffering from severe emotional/mental issues who she was reportedly seeking to have committed. Were she alive, I suspect Ms. Lanza would be facing a mountain of both criminal and civil litigation. And deservedly so.
However, as I previously stated, the insane actions of Adam Lanza and the irresponsible/negligent actions of his mother do not justify stripping millions of Americans of their constitutional right to gun ownership and self-defense.”
“I would like to say, "Don't let the door hit you on the butt when you leave." The vast majority of Red states take more than they pay so none of you would be missed. I think you may miss your Medicare and your Social Security and your highway dollars and your federal school dollars, etc., to say nothing of your national defense. We already fought one war over this and you lost...so don't even think its going to happen again. Unfortunately we are stuck with you.”

“don't understand why getting so angry about it. Texas pays about 250 billion and receives back about $170 billion back. Texas has a balanced budget. Exactly what would be wrong if they seceded? Would you hate them for that? Hardly. This is not like leaving your family. Only 15 states receive less than what they put in. Texans xontribute about $11000 per capita. The Distric of Columbia puts in $35000 / capita and receives about $70,000/capita.Is there anything wrong with this picture?”
