The Death Penalty as Punishment for Being Gay - Apparently Uganda Doesn't Know it's 2009

“Maybe support for this draconian law should be added to the new GOP purity test. Don't be suprised to see similar legislation proposed in Red States, given how terrified these big tough red state men are of gays (except apparantly the closeted ones in their own party)”

“I'm so glad that you set me straight. I'm relieved to know that since we are the "good guys" that anyone who dies as a result of our governments policies is themselves to blame. Try explaining that to a dead Iraqi. And remember to be scared of terrorists, in spite of the fact that death from terrorism is about as likely in this contry as a lightning strike”

“wow you are a really fearful person. Far more people die in this country from lack of health care than from terrorism. Actually far more people die in bathtub accidents than from terrorism. We still haven't caugh Bin Laden, and we still can't account for how the 911 attacks succeeded in any kind of detail. It sure is a good excuse for unchecked militarism. Why do hawls sound so gleefu; when they discuss the potential threat of terror? It almost like thay want it to happen”

“What on earth does health care have to do with anything? *Everyone* dies from lack of health care.
People who die from lack of healthcare do so because of their own financial shortcomings, or their own poor health. There. is. nothing. wrong. with. that. That is life.
People who die slipping in the tub do so as a result of their own clumsiness or some other accident. There. is. nothing. wrong. with. this.
People who die from terrorism are innocent victims to someone else's direct violent action.
People who can't tell the moral difference in these three types of death are part of the problem, and not part of the solution. One of them is murder, the other two are not.”

Sarah's Palling Around with Conspiracists
Commented Dec 05, 2009 at 12:02:32 in Politics
“The absence of significant conspiracies is the least credible stance out there, especially since those with a vested interest in conspiring control all media outlets. Look at the history of the 20th century, in particular, and then tell yourself that conspiracies are baseless. That being the case, there are some conspiracies that are patently absurd and others that are based more on motivation than on fact. The motivation to centralize power and engage in resource wars is quite powerful. As are the huge inconsistencies in the official version of 911 facts. The idea that the President was not born in Hawaii is another story entirely. It seems to stem primarily from the interpretation that a black man does not pass the test of 'natural born citizenship'. The anit-christ also seems a bit far-fetched, and inherently irrational. We are a nation that is easily scared into wars that benefit a few powerful people in extreme ways. The obvious fact that 911 was milked for political gain (and still is) can not be brushed aside, and the same people who gained power from the attacks were in charge of investigating the attacks. Those 19 kids sure had a lot of skill--they even manged to shut down our Air Defenses for half a day. At least that's what the gvmt says...”

Until then--relax--there is nothing we can do to stop it, since we the people are not in control. its all already been decided behind closed doors, and any President who doesn't go along with their agenda will suffer the same fate as JFK”

“You are one of the few Americans that understand what these wars are all about and just who the American President takes his marching orders from. It was never about freedom and democracy, it was always about oil and pipelines. The US Military will be out of Iraq and Afganistan when the the oil industry says it can leave and not a moment sooner. Obama has no say in that matter.”

“This is America--if we didn't escalate existing wars we would have to find new unnecessary ones to fight. Just look at the last hundred years of our history. "Winning" wars means simply fighting them to the military industrial complex, and their brainwashed Red State fan club. How many people die, how much money is wasted, and having a coherent exit strategy are as always completely irrelevant. If this were not the case we would not have needlessly invaded Iraq, or Vietnam. Its not like the American People have any say in this matter. Its already been decided by those who run our country behind the scenes”

“I think the issue is that ending the Wars is outside of what Obama is allowed to do by the people wh actually make things happen in this country. So don't waste to much of your psychic energy on any particular person currently in our Government. They have all been vetted, and meet the criteria set by the people who actually run this country. Its all rigged. A lot of people already know. More may wake up one day.”

“Would McCain/Palin have ended the wars? Was that even an option proffered by any electible candidate? C'mon dude. I sorry that our culture and leaders are so corrupt, too. I just think the voting thing is totally rigged an ultimately makes nno difference. The President does not really run this country--and an 'outsider' Pres all the more. Why does no reasonable reform ever work, and things progressively get worse? Its all orchestrated by those in power, and they will do it as long as we let them, regardless of who we vote for”
