I along with many other Hillary supporters were also quick to come to the defense of Obama in his support of his friend and mentor Rev. Wright. (btw, IMO, the good Rev. was right on most of his critical assessments)

The last great glimer of pride I recall was the historic signing of the Peace accord between Begin & Sadat. There has been quite a dry spell of pride since the Reagan Era, which turned back the clock on Social, Political and Economic Justice.
