“How are you going to elect the "right type of people"? People who are even further to the left?
These polls show that Obamas far left agendas do not sit with the rest of the American public. The Dems have a 60 vote majority and are fighting amongst themselves on health care. What is going to happen is just like 1994 Obama will be forced to move to the center just like Clinton when Republicans took controll of the Congress.”

aflyinyoursoup replied on Dec 17, 2009 at 12:58:52

“The only thing 'far left' about Obama is his 'rhetoric'. His behavior is demonstrably Corporate Inspired.
And the Dems are NOT actually fighting amongst themselves. It's nothing more than 'Political Theater' designed to create the illusion of a legitimate democratic process!”

“The GOP Party and conservatives generally have spent the last 147 years trying to liberate black Americans and make them self-reliant, while Democrats and liberals have spent most of that time either trying to hold blacks behind or making them dependent on big-government solutions. While the Right generally has tried to create a society built on equal opportunity where race matters less, the Left usually has tried to amplify the importance of race while apportioning power and privilege on the basis of skin color.”

“And how long are those stimulus jobs going to last? Are they permanent?”

TLV replied on Dec 01, 2009 at 14:23:15

“Not sure what a "permanent" job is, but here goes:
The bridge project is to replace a crumbling, unsafe one. So it is a safety issue first, but after its replacement, the rather blighted area it sits in is due for new restaurants and shops. So - more jobs created.
The roof replacement of a public transportation building will enable them to put money into other upgrades and new hires. So - more jobs created.
Funding for several new Special Education teachers and teacher aids means more jobs. Continued funding depends on whether or not the schools have the money after two years.
A flood abatement project will keep the yards and sewers from flooding near the creek. That will save people money, muddy or sewer-filled basements, and lots of headaches. Not sure about jobs.
Highway upgrades means less money that the state has to use. Meanwhile, employees have work to do.
I know the developers of a downtown shopping area looked into stimulus funds for it, but I'm not sure how much they got. It involves several renovated or new offices, shops, and restaurants.
I know there a couple more, but they escape me right now. The point is, the funds are still there, they are available under the right conditions, they help create new jobs, and it is precisely what this nation needs right now.”

Concerned Obama Pressures Senate To Pass Health Care Bill

Commented Nov 09, 2009 at 12:43:47 in Politics

“If the Obama Care proposal is so good, why do you have to imprison people who don’t want to participate?
Why can’t they answer? They can’t. They need to force people into the system in order to spread the costs more evenly to everyone, which is why the House took the blatantly unconstitutional path of federal mandates for health insurance.
They want to solve a problem involving 13% of the American population by burdening the 87% that doesn’t have the problem at all, rather than looking for a way to reduce health-care costs for 100%.
The answer: Statism always requires force, and it always strips people of liberty. It always comes with handcuffs. That’s how we know it’s coming.”

But sure, the whites in the republican party know what's best for minorities BETTER than minorities right?
