“Oh for crying out loud...
Yes, yes...someone tied me to a chair and made me eat hot hummus...good grief.
I'm not making a stand for anything, except that it's OK to eat hummus any way someone likes to. It's only been around a thousand years...I am sure some people like it warm, and some like it cold...but this, "one is better than the other" crap is ridiculous...it's however a person likes it!!!!!!!!!
And you obviously haven't had decent homemade hummus if you think the supermarket stuff is better.”

“I live in a shoe-box one bedroom now (duh. winning:-), so I would LOVE one of these...all I need room for is my bed, stereo and my bass amp.
Love this idea.
Never understood why houses had to be so friggin big...
How many rooms do people need?”
“the actions of a 4 yr old are EXACTLY an indication.
And, sorry, amojority of the problems are because of lousy parents.”

“Parents are one factor of many that form a person. I know many great people who had lousy parents and quite a few lousy ones with good parents. Kids are not plants. They have minds of their own and an entire society that helps form them.”
“Schools and Corporations....
in their ads, speeches and literature, they will SAY they want leaders and free-thinkers, people who think outside the box.
In reality, they just want people who will just go with the flow, do what they're told, and not make waves”

“Sorry about your ear and, ok, maybe I did jump on the guy too harshly...but, ok, let's say a couple people are in a hot tub, and then someone comes in with test strips...ya know? "Ew, that water's nasty, I'm not getting in it".
Just seems so childish...I mean, we DO have immune systems (which we are killing BTW). Besides, don't they usually put enough chlorine in these things to kill a herd of rhinos? If you're at the point where you need to carry test strips...then just don't go in.
Live a little.”

“We agree more than we disagree, Steve. I mean, yeah, some discretion would certainly be in order if you were going to test the water in the presence of others! And, it does seem like there's enough chlorine in most public pools/tubs to kill anything including cockroaches. But, hey, to each his own, right?
Against all odds, I was recently in a semi-public hot tub and the chlorine level was so high that I flashed back to protective mask training in Army Basic. . . it was like tear gas coming off the surface of the water! I had to exit.
I'm all for living - even more than just a little. But, we're living in an age where if I scored at a bar and didn't have a condom I think I'd have to pass. . . Some risks just aren't worth it to me any more.”

“Basically, you know that commerical, where three pre-teen girls follow some guy around, and everything he does, they each say, "Eww!", "Seriously?" "That is so gross"
that's basically what his first statemnet reminded me of.”

“I guess I can sort of - barely - see that, but here's what he actually said:
"What are those 'test strips' actually called? I'm going on a cruise in a month and would like to pick some up. Heck, for under $10 it's worth the investment. If the water is nasty, then I won't get in!"
I sort of agree with Jon B. that taking test strips on cruise is a little "different." But, given the number of major disease outbreaks I've heard about on cruise ships. . . I'm not so sure I wouldn't do it myself. (Or just skip the cruise altogether in favor of maybe one of those places where they have to hike a mile for a gallon of drinkable water. . . )
But, damn. You jumped on the guy like he was Howard Hughes or something. I just didn't take what he said that way at all.
Then again, I got a bizarre ear infection from a hotel pool/hot tub once which resulted in the left side of my face being paralyzed. So, I may have a slightly different take on this issue than some people.”
