“The facts SIR are oil, mining, fracking will be and is eating up the lands, pretty soon you will see NO animals on those barren lands & yes it will be barren.... The horses are NOT the problem and indeed they do need sterilization it is not the process as you say ANTI'S don't want it is the process and what the BLM wants to use on the horses... SO if you are worried about the lands you better focus on the real cause's issue's. BLM right now has thousands of lands up for bid for MORE Fracking, so they are going to corral MORE horses away, in that area using drought as the reason, you do know how much water a fracking operation uses, right??? Ok, so WE ALL better wake up and see the real picture here this is about money of course and has NOTHING to do with saving our lands, BLM has a purpose for our lands and has NOTHING to do with drought or the horses eating it away the vegetation which is a joke in itself..... Those are the facts.”

“The facts relating to oil oil exploration, mining, etc. do not alter the facts relating to horses. I see no problem with limiting all of the above. I do see a problem with excusing any one of the above because of the remaining issues.”
“Actually the OVER GRAZED public land is being eaten by all the cows and sheep you better start doing some homework cause they out number the horses by the thousands, get your facts right ”

“Please do not lecture me about homework. I am very familiar with the effects of stock on the high desert and am perfectly aware of the damage done by cattle and sheep. While cattle and sheep certainly outnumber horses on public lands nationally, this does not alter the fact that horses are the primary agents of destruction in specific localities. And I am not suggesting that horses are the only species that should be reduced--I would remove cattle and sheep as well. And, while the numbers of cattle and sheep are limited by range managers (although not dramatically enough), it appears that horse advocates are prepared to accept no such limitations on horse numbers. My facts are correct and, much as stockmen deny the damage caused by livestock, so also do some special interests deny the damage caused by the horse. Those are the facts.”
“Actually horse slaughter endorses the abundance of horses, it encourages over breeding... We have had slaughter for what 20, 30 years do you think it has gotten any better?? NO, and it won't till everyone is held accountable, like AQHA who by the way Reg. 150,000 foals and encourages incentives programs, and yet 70% of horses are Quarter horses in slaughter pipeline, so yeah this horse slaughter is a dumping ground for so many irresponsible owners!!
it does NOT fix the issue's.......
there are all kinds of avenue's for horses, like more therapy programs, more cheaper clinic's, children's program's, I would rather have MY TAX dollar spent on a variety of programs to help people and horses, then to pay for Foreign interest horse slaughter, wouldn't you really?? folks need to really educate themselves about horse slaughter what it really does and doesn't do before one makes any kind of comment, just out of respect for yourself and the horses>>>”

“I am refering to wild horses currently populating public lands and allowed to reproduce far beyond the ability of the land to sustain them without damage to native species. My complaint is that the same groups who oppose round-ups and stockpiling also oppose birth control, etc and so appear to have no interest in helping to maintain a healthy balance between horses and other species. If the ultimate result of such neglect is a renewed interest in horse slaughter, then perhaps this will serve to bring all groups back to the table to reach the sort of political compromise that results in responsible management decisions in order to avert this outcome.”

“You and I seem to be thinking of different situations. You appear to be focused on "owned" horses raised in captivity, and my comment is unrelated to this. My concern is for overgrazed public lands in western states such as Nevada, where breeding populations of "wild" horses are outcompeting native species for food and water, and depriving them of adequate cover. I would prefer to see my tax dollars go to protect these lands and native inhabitants. Also, I am entirely in favor of any other solution (children's programs, etc) that you mention, but these appear not to be realistic solutions given that they appear not to have stalled the growth in wild horse numbers.”
“We as a civilized society, I thought anyway?? NOW, I wonder how civilized we really are, if we are to make horse slaughter legal here, and how all these years we have been sending more and more horses across the borders, SO LET'S look at that, do you think the slaughter is working? Is it stopping over breeding, do you think NO, well of course it isn't slaughter endorses over breeding it is a dumping ground for irresponsible horse owners... WE all have had horse slaughter 20, 30 years and in all this time, it has not changed a thing it has only made people less responsible with their ownership of horses, doesn't take a rocket scientist to see through all the Pro Slaughter propaganda>>>> This behavior needs to stop once and for all NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“NOPE I'm not, it ain't over, LONG way to go.. We'll see won't we ........ Your so funny the whole country hahahahahahah NO MONEY and CORUPTION is what is working with this mess if you knew anything at all, GROW UP...........”
“These places that are trying to open for horse slaughter ARE FOREIGN owners even Valley Meat has had all that work done to his plant bye FOREIGN interest's, isn't that nice of them.... Let's send them home packing..... Our country does not condone this and it will not be happening, know it feel it...... SO GO HOME torture yourselves................”

“you are ok with killing cows and chicken and fish so why not horses?”

“You are wrong. Obviously the country does agree or it wouldn't happen and be approved by the gov't. You lose.”
“It is disgusting what our Gov. has been doing to ALL the Mustangs and Burro's it is time they own up to the mess they have made and fix it, start sterilizing the horses that they have captured and PUT THEM BACK where they have a right to be on THEIR LAND not the CATTLE'S LAND....... Corrupt, illegal crap BLM has been doing has GOT TO END!!!!!!!”
“I mean here we are including HSUS fighting this horse slaughter with all the propaganda from Pro Slaughter, HUSU sounds like the propaganda that we have been fighting, making NO sense at all... WE ALL know a child abuser, spouse abuser or animal abuser, the likelihood to abuse again is great, this is a wonderful idea to put in place to protect the animals and HSUS is not on board and their reasoning for it is trite to say the least, honestly, SHAME on them...... MAKES NO SENSE at all........”

“It makes sense when you realize that Wayne Pacelle does not care about any animals - and hates companion animals - because they need to eat meat to survive. Pacelle has been running HSUS for almost a decade and the organization now revolves around his ego and warped motivations. He is tireless in his efforts to divert money from pet shelters, horse caretakers, disaster relief experts, and farm animal protectors. And despite all the false claims of accomplishments, that is the Hypocrisy Society of the United States' only success.
If Pacelle were something other than a corrupt and dishonest politician, we might not be seeing the resumption of horse slaughter in the U.S. If HSUS wanted to protect horses from slaughter, it would have provided millions of dollars to horse sanctuaries every year - from day one of the U.S. ban. Instead, HSUS, and it's shady direct mail fundraisers like Quadriga and Market Development Group, have made tens of millions of dollars on the backs of hundreds of thousands of horses who have endured unprecedented suffering en route to slaughter in Mexico and Canada.
Did you hear? Donations to HSUS have doubled since Berman and Winograd started criticizing them. Not surprising, since fundraising expenses, PR outreach, and fraudulent accounting have quadrupled in the past decade. And Pacelle has never let a disaster - or the money behind a psychopathic NFL dogfighting racketeer - go to waste.”
