“These people who think crime rates dropped because of strict laws have no connection to research obviously. There has been strong, no moderate, *strong* evidence that lead was contributing to the crime wave through actually causing brain damage to a whole generation (use Google Scholar, watch the results pour in). Once lead in gas was banned and other forms of lead were regulated, you look a generation later, and voila, our latest generation of teens has some of the lowest crime rates in decades, violent or otherwise. Furthermore, drug use stayed steady over the course of that time with different drugs rising or dropping in popularity, but the War on Drugs never really making any difference.”

“I don't think donating to your church should count as charity. What is the money going for? To build a mega-church or pay your clergy? During the 1980s recession, my laid-off parents went to our church to ask for help...not a hand-out, but a loan, and they received Easter baskets instead of help. Then they went to their former church, Mormons, and asked for help. We got a tin of popcorn. Eight months later, my parents had to put their kids in foster care because they couldn't afford to heat the house (it was 32 degrees F inside) and we didn't have sufficient food.”

“Giving money to your church isn't charity, especially when so many churches do nothing substantive to help people. I mean building a new mega-church building and paying your clergy well isn't exactly following Jesus's lead. During the early 80s recession, my laid-off parents went to our church to ask for help...not even a handout, a loan...and the only thing they did for the family was give us Easter baskets (the candy-filled kind). Then, they went to their former church, the Mormons, to ask for help. We got a tin of popcorn. Eight months later, my parents had to sign over their kids to foster care, because they couldn't heat the house (it was 32 degrees F inside our house) nor provide sufficient food. I'd like to see a chart of charitable giving that isn't related to church donations. I bet the blue states jump back into the top spots.”

“USS Constitution: Did you mean freedom like the Rhode Island high school student who went to court to get a Christian prayer removed from her public school only to get death threats from Christians for following the Constitution. Public spaces are not for the domination of one religion. They can move their prayer to their church or their private school. And by the way, the Secular Coalition of America just gave Ron Paul an F as well.”

“Laws on the books about murder of a fetus also have time limits on them for what stage of development will be affected such that embryos and zygotes are not prosecuted.

It is religion that claims that life begins at conception, despite the fact the Bible never mentions it, and historians have shown the practice was common during the Biblical era. Furthermore, the distinction is likely *never* to be resolved beyond where it is today by either science or consensus.

And women's right to choose is just as, if not more, important than being able to get a job. How do you think women entered the workforce in droves since the 1970s except that they now control their wombs? The right to choose is associated with women's progress in every nation on this planet. So, your argument is biased, struggles to makes its point, and fails to help Ron Paul be anything but a denier of women's freedom. This will be my last post to you as I am bored by this conversation.”

“Huffington Post allowed you to call me infantile and absurd in your post without censoring you, whereas I usually get censored if I try something like that. But don't be infantile and absurd. It takes a male to be obtuse about women's rights and reduce it to a singular message in a multi-sided issue. And you've proven that point in spades. If the equal rights amendment would pass, as it should, women would have the same Bill of Right's protections as men with each of their rights being uncompromised. Naturally, the opponents of the ERA claim that the equal protection clause is sufficient to protect women's rights, so there you have it. Our freedom is guaranteed in the Bill of Rights as well. Meanwhile, we also have the weight of the Supreme Court to make our arguments less than "trivial."

Science has *already* answered the question of whether a group of cells, or a gilled, tailed embryo, takes precedence over the life of a sentient being who doesn't *die* upon breathing oxygen. In the stages of development, there comes a point called viability where the fetus can live without requiring the woman to make a choice. I am not comfortable with late-term abortions, but realize that they only occur when something drastic has occurred like the life of the mother is at stake. You really need to read more on the topic to sound less like a GOP talking point.”

I know plenty about economics and how wrong RP's ideas truly are. Second, abortion rights are women's rights and they don't belong available in some places and not available in others, And finally he wouldn't get an abysmal rating for his voting record from Americans United for the Separation of Church and State if he wasn't guilty of blurring the lines. “Because people use the separation of church and state as a means of beating out the church.

Think of it as a line. Ron Paul gets attacked on both sides because both sides want to be over the line and force their views. To some he's not good because he won't force church government, and to others he not good because he wont use government to stamp out the church.

Just freedom is all that is asked.”
