As employers, they had to be aware of the ages of these kids that they were permitting to operate the mentioned machinery. Their ages would have been apparent on the IDs that they had to present when hired.

“I have 3 cats indoors, currently. Two are 14 & the other is about 6 months old. I have 6 feral cats outdoors that I let sleep in my garage. There were 2 more but one was hit by a car & the other disappeared. And...we are watching 3 kittens for a friend until they can be adopted out because she wanted them socialized with humans & she had to work all the time. So, my life is basically preparing meals & scooping cat poop 24/7, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I love cats because they are the coolest animals that allow us to interact with them. Dogs are all "in your face" and drooling and jumping up all the time, and would sell their souls for a treat. Cats basically could care less. I love that attitude. If you're lucky and work at it, they repay you with their love -- a real compliment because they're notoriously hard to B.S. Come to think of it, I think I prefer cats to a lot of humans!”

“I feed 6 feral kittens & their father outside in my backyard, & all my inside cats (3) came to us after being abandoned or were feral too. I love all cats but agree that we must work to spay/neuter them to keep the feral populations down.”

“Cats really are special animals with very unique relationships to humans over all other animals, including dogs. Their use of "meowing" is directed to us rather than to others of their own species. They live symbiotically with us, tolerating our eccentric ways (to their way of thinking) & rewarding us with their affection. I love them.”
