“It's easy to invoke personal responsibility. The problem is if you're an individual with limited means and a bank armed with a team of lawyers threatens to sue you, do you just let them? Maybe you haven't noticed, but the legal process is pretty expensive. You could be entirely in the right, but by the time you've won the lawsuit, you've exhausted all your savings on legal fees. Meanwhile, the bank goes on about its merry business.”

“I agree. It should be like the courts where a judge has to recuse himself. Lawmakers who have even the appearance of a conflict should not be allowed to vote on legislation. That would certainly discourage lobbyists from buying candidates if that candidate can't vote on favorable legislation.”

It's these kinds of scare tactics by brokers who have such a HUGE conflict of interest that should be punished. There's no excuse for pushing a buyer into a loan they're unsure about.”
