What Next in the Battle for Health Care Reform?
Commented Dec 23, 2009 at 16:48:57 in Politics
“How many would trade in their Laptops, Computers for a Health Procedure they couldn't afford? How many people who've never seen a doctor or used a computer (i.e, haveing the luxury to blog about health care) or don't have health care might find some respite in this bill? Sure there are a couple that need Health Care that get spotlighted and blog about itbut not the majority. But some of you want to comprise the needy because you don't want insurance companies to benifit. It's quite pompous to make an argument about one industry not being able to make a profit? I don't want insurance companies to use people like mortgage companies have but this can be a seperate issue and not be the reason for killing the bill. Americans are so compromised by everthing they've benifited from around the world, it's not suprising to see those that have benifitted the most, be the ones to want to deny "again" those in society that have always benifitted the least. This always happens. always. Maybe that is why those in society stay at the bottom, because those in the middle or at the top are too busy resenting each other. As much as I loath Aynn Rand, she is right about man being selfish.”

“,maybe some insurance companies liek this bill becuase they will be able to deny treatment because a government "health Care Panel" might have rules that will deny it.”
The Rational Case For 'Kill The Bill'
Commented Dec 23, 2009 at 16:03:20 in Media
“What is felt is that the countermeasures and redress' that some opposed to the Senate Bill are woeing of others is really telling of the White Elephant in the Room that many Progressives don't address. There has been a lot of compromise, corrosion, agendas and vested interest apportioned to both parties over the decade that Howard Dean himself knows. This is 2009 not 1908 a lot has happened skippy and the watchpersons have changed.
Another thing, distorting what John Harwood said, he never said Progressive were on drugs LITERALLY, but then suggesting that people supporting the bill were themselves "in fact" on drugs is rather non-progressive.”

Start this demographic -youn.g wh.ite males - Young and give them a great deal of responsibility and in a few years they have the "experienc e." Can't argue with them now and of course the small percent of this demographic that really has to compete will complain and be used as cover and be the resentfull ones against OTHER demographics. Perfect ponzi scheme.”

“Funny how "some" people are ready to elevate THEIR ALLEGED screwed up STANDARDS on a dime when Serena plays and ready to call her out on the silliest stuff. Notice that? In fact this is the most stimulting thing to happen to a rather dreary US open, with all women Top 5 out - except for Serena. Let's see, Serena and Venus are #2,#3 in the world and the next American Women in Tennis are ranked #56, #170 and #200 in the world. Hello. She was penalized, she dealt with it. Move on.”

“What I LOVE ABOUT THIS INCIDENT is that it is exposing the Hypocrites from those who claim to love American Tennis. Men like Bobby Riggs was ripe with hypocrisy and arrogance and so many other male players like Connors and McEnroe and so on. They all were bad role models. That's why I admire Nadal and Agassi. Actually Agassi tried to hit a line judge, hard, with a ball one time”

“Connors, McEnroe are old tennis news. Watch today's players, they are cool and calm with an occasional slammed racket or they talk to themselves. Murray takes his stress out on his knuckles. The US Open started with 12 Russian women, none made it to the semis because they were all stressed out. Serena is an amazing athlete but she has to get over whatever drove her to overact last night (I saw it, it was extreme). She is a role model to so many and I hope she accepts responsibility for her bad behavior.”

“George Steph knows how to lose the House in Two Years. Clinton was popular with his movie people - who all think that life in America is moderate and center right. Sorry, life is not a movie. Moderates in both the House and Senate are the ones holding up this bill the same way they voted on torture and on Iraq. By the way, how many Americans making under $60,000/year go out and vote ? Do you have the data on that ? I would guess, not many. The Public wants the public option, and Obama is very clever not getting stuck talking about triggers, phase-ins and delivery systems.”
