“No...I am not completely wrong. Yes, the FBI does do a background check but only for fingerprinting to check criminal records. They do not check with friends and family, associates, or co-workers to review character. Just because somebody does not have a criminal background does not make them a level headed person!”
“Several people in these comments are quick to judge. I do not condone violence, and I appreciate the importance of the census, which is why I completed mine and sent within days of receiving it. This was, hopefully, an isolated incident that resulted in injury. Some people are so critical and judgemental. I was at home, working, minding my own business, and next thing I know, I am being run over my a car that happended to be a census worker. Dont' think this doesn't bother me physically and mentally. I am a true American...I didn't ask for this to happen. Think before you type.”

“I thought about it a great deal. I'm sorry for your car accident, but that does not lessen my concern for my SISTER, who is endangered by crazy and ignorant Americans who have been inflamed by the likes of Bachmanns and Becks. Nor does your accident reflect on the caliber of census workers in general. You could have been run over by an Islamic terrorist and it wouldn't have reflected on him or her either. Like I said, I am sorry for your troubles, but that doesn't make them less than completely random.”
“No, I am just saying, that some may have been provoked. I don't condone violence. That was not the message I was trying to send. If I was someone who had a bad temper, things could have escalted to both of us.”

“Dina, I think you replied to my comment by mistake. I was talking to Fatfeline. Now I'm going to try to find your original comment. :-)”
“The Census worker came to my door and asked if she could ask some questions. I am self-employed and was knee deep with a client shen she came by, I told her I already filled out my census and sent, which I did, and was busy at the moment and offered her to come back later. She continued to insist...then when I went to close my door, she wedged herself in my door preventing me from closing it. I explained to her that she could not do that, yet she pushed on. I finally pushed her out of my doorway while stating that I was going to get her tag and report her. She said ..oh oh I am sorry. I grabbed a pen and pad and walked behind her car, while looking her in the face and stating that I was going to get her tag number. I stood 3 feet behind her car and while I was writing down the info, she put her car in reverse and hit the gas knocking me to the ground, I quickly rolled out of the way and she kept on going. If I had not rolled out of the way, she would have ran right over me.”

“Per your story relayed here, she committed a series of crimes and acted in a manner that would terminate her relationship with the Census Bureau.”
ChicagoSuz on May 29, 2010 at 15:39:16
“Jeez... that's insane! Were you able to get her info?
Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. I hope you recover quickly from your injuries.”
“While the census workers are defending themselves...consider this...a census worker came to my home 5/17, and through a series of events wound up running over me with her car and fracturing my tailbone and injured my shoulder to where it will require surgery. She was charged with trespassing and culpable negligence. Come to find out...the background screeing for census workers is minimal. Obviously, I have retained a lawyer and am unable to sit down for more than 5 minute rendering me unable to work at this time. So...maybe some of these so called "attacks" were competely justified!”

“I'm going to have to say that story is completely made up.
How could a Census worker be charged with Trespassing when FEDERAL STATUTES give them the right to access real property for the purpose of enumeration? Seriously, that's flawed lying. Go rework your story and come up with a new name...Log in again and try to entertain us.
Oh, and good luck finding a lawyer that will take your case if you are actually standing behind a slow moving vehicle when it runs you over.
Also, you expect me to believe that you were run over with a automobile and only your tail bone and shoulder were injured? Do you have abs of steel? What about the rest of your body? How could you possibly not have injured any additional areas during the course of being run over by a vehicle weighing thousands of pounds?”

“You are completely wrong about the screening process. They run FBI checks on us all.”

“I'm a census worker, between teaching appointments. No attack is justified, by you or us. Wrong.”
ChicagoSuz on May 28, 2010 at 21:17:04
“Ouch! although I'm curious about the 'series of events' that could possibly result in this from a census worker coming to your door... ??
