Ensign Whacked Clinton For His Infidelities, Called Them "Embarrassing" For Country
Commented Jun 17, 2009 at 09:50:08 in Politics
“Well said. Seems to me if you look at it long enough, it's this impulse to feel or appear superior to other people that drives a lot of people to adopt irrational belief sets...a need for elitism in which they are the elect kind of neurosis/s ociopathy. There should be a clinical name for it, probably is but I don't know it. Anyone who claims moral authority to condemn the actions of others has but one set of rules they must be held to- their own. Participating in the reprehensible circus they made of the Clinton scandal, actually impeaching a sitting president over it, and wasting the public's time, money and trust was the real embarrassment- not the foibles of an all-too-human president. The "special" moral status of these hypocrites comes from a self-delusion that their belief systems enable and encourage, and has been at the root of most of the problems of western civilization for the last millenium! These people deserve neither our respect or our silence on these matters. I'm sick to death of being told we have to tread lightly around the "rights" of these pseudochristians, or pretend that their irrational beliefs somehow have any legitimacy, when simple common sense and experience tells us otherwise. He has no choice but to resign, by his own standards. Let's see if he really has the strength of his convictions, or is just another lying, reprehensible neocon.”
Bank Of America Can Take Social Security Benefits To Cover Overdraft Fees

My own experiences, and those of others I know with BoA lead me to believe that anyone still doing business with them should exercise their freedom of choice and take their business elsewhere.
Usury is a sin, in Christianity and Islam.”

Bailed Out Bankers To Be Hauled Before Congress
Commented Feb 03, 2009 at 08:18:51 in Politics
“The arrogance of these people is beyond belief. "Thanks for the money suckers, but we're not gonna tell you what we did with it". This is incredible. These people think they owe us nothing for bailing them out...the stimulus package was supposed to free up credit so they could begin lending again to help stop the loss of jobs and businesses, instead they bandaged their self-inflicted wounds with our money and are giving us all the finger. If we can't get straight answers and compliance with the OBVIOUS intentions of the package, I say not one red cent more. Let them collapse, they aren't part of the solution, obviously. I owe them NOTHING and neither does any American. Talk about damaging, irrational senses of entitlement!! These people should be locked up-how is it possible to do this kind of economic violence to Americans without facing severe penalties? I could get myself in more trouble stealing a loaf of bread!!!

Obama Says Bailout Bill Should Not Include Bankruptcy Reform
Commented Sep 26, 2008 at 08:17:00 in Politics
“Here's another example of pragmatism at work- Obama doesn't want to weaken the possibility of getting a responsible bill that addresses the issue at hand, so he's opposed to adding all the crap to it. Looks like crisis politics is starting to inform what both sides are doing- Naomi Klein was right!
Bankruptcy definitely needs attention, the changes made by Bushco and the banks need to be rolled back- but let's do it in January when we have majorities and the Pres to make sure it gets done right!
Compromise and pragmatism are the watchwords of democracy, not ossified partisanship and media-scripted brinksmanship. Patience, get out the vote...we' ll take back our country.

“I don't see the connection between Plame and this. Plame was outed as political retaliation, this is just information we should all know about our government's intentions and actions against another soveriegn country. This is the kind of lawless crap that got most of the third world to hate us in the first place, and drives recruitment into terrorist anti-american groups worldwide. As far as I'm concerned it's aiding and abetting our enemies, and making the US less safe from retaliation.
It's time to get a shorter, stronger leash on the CIA. It;s obvious that having no oversight or accountability has made them a rogue terrorist group themselves, subject only to the ideological whims of a president and Congress willing to look the other way, an illegal and immoral act itself.
The Constitution is the law of this country. All government departments and all US citizens should be held to account for their actions.

“As another agnostic(and closet buddhist), but raised LDS, I have to commend Mr. Obama on this. When Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was, he stated very clearly it was Love- and to love each other means not to kill, not to bear false witness(lying) and all the laws and the prophets.. .This aspect of Christianity is something we could sure use today in our country. It's also an aspect of just about all other religions. I see nothing wrong with using these moral guidelines to live your life, as long as the discipline stops at the end of the nose of the believer. Most sensible people reject the fairy tales of Intelligent Design and the thinly veiled hatred of others who are different that some religions/preachers espouse. Bringing them into the Obama camp is just another example of Obama's practical sensibility of the pluralist nature of our republic- no one should be excluded who respects the rights of others, regardless of their own beliefs.
it's just good common sense to appeal to the better angels in everyone.”

“The only way McSame can even come close to redeeming himself is if he'll make public vows to renounce the "unitary" executive, and return to a legal position on what the President's function in our government actually consists of. it would be even better if he were to call for impeachment proceedings to start against the current administration, both the President and the VP, for their crimes.
