Contradictory Republicans Still Flummoxed By Medicare

Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 10:41:52 in Politics

“As a Progressive, I have to say that I am baffled by your emotionally charged comment aimed at Bob Cesca.

As front guys for big banks and multi-corporations, one of the more important tasks the GOP is commissioned for is to drown out the voice of those who actually speak on behave of 'the people'.

And since civility has been banned in camp Repub, a head-on-no-holds-barred approach is well within the rights of Progressives; anything less will most assuredly fail to pierce the bank/corp's protective wall of greedy, tongue-wagging marionettes.

Bob Cesca speaks for me and many others here, and I encourage him to continue to do so.”

Amy Goodman And Canada's Olympic Paranoia

Commented Nov 28, 2009 at 18:09:48 in Sports

“Your response is understood and appreciated.

My concern is mostly stirred up because of this remark from the article:
"The Canadian government has leveled public housing, stifled civil liberties and harassed local activists. The last thing they want is someone like Amy Goodman telling the world."

Canadian people are typically polite and accommodating and no doubt would be put off by such blatantly corporate behavior within their own borders.”

Amy Goodman And Canada's Olympic Paranoia

Commented Nov 28, 2009 at 06:33:32 in Sports

“Amy Goodman is one of our finest journalists both nationally and internationally.

That she was treated with such disrespect by the Canadian boarder patrol speaks very poorly for Canada in general.

Having said that, perhaps it was a good thing that this happened and is being reported, because up until now, the majority of us North Americans were mostly unaware of the slope our neighbor to the north is sliding down.”

Skepticat replied on Nov 28, 2009 at 17:17:37

“There about 33,000,000 Canadians, one or 2 of which hassled Ms Goodman - probably on the directions of a single politician or flack to a big-wig in immigration. The rest of us didn't know about this until after the fact and less than 10% would have approved.”

Vaccination: A Conversation Worth Having

“I am not qualified to answer that question, however, I can comfortably recommend you to someone who is - Dr. Mercola, http://www.mercola.com

From the same site, you can easily access a list of his related articles (some video) regarding the topic of H1N1and its specific vaccine, as well as other vaccines.

If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, you might try leaving a comment or question.

This site is legitimate and highly informative.

I wish you well.”

“Actually, the above recommendation that I posted came from a licensed professional within the medical establishment - a director of nursing - to be specific.

You might try learning something about microbiology and/or pathology prior to committing to such sarcasm ... that is, unless you enjoy highlighting your ignorance.”

“For those of us who strongly oppose lining up for a 'trust-us-we-know-what's-best-for-you' shot, one tried and true method of self-protecting against the flu (H1N1 or other) is to gargle with saltwater, and whiff saline nasal spray, both 3 x daily during flu season.”

This Time, We Can't Leave the Middle Class Behind

Commented Aug 12, 2009 at 09:42:44 in Politics

“When I hear things like "The economy is recovering", I can't help but wonder - 'For whom?'

I also question those numerous and expensive commercials that sooth me with music and massage me with messages of a relaxing lifestyle once I sign on the dotted line or buy their product.
Would that 'relaxing lifestyle' be mine ... or theirs?

Does subjecting my daughter to a vaccine that has numerous side-effects and no history or long-term data really protect her health? Or does it protect Pharma's wealth?

When I fail to question the motives of giant corporations and major financial institutions - who ultimately stands to gain?

And will my quality of life improve if insurance companies are allowed to hold me hostage because I have no other option outside of death or destitution?”

MadHeart replied on Aug 12, 2009 at 10:18:04

“Good questions, and I might add one my 50 yr old son asked: Are there really that many males in the US suffering from erectile dysfunction? If so, why? And OTC "performance enhancers" are just another ripoff, but this country is morbidly obsessed with sex (or the lack thereof). The pursuit of education and critical thinking takes a huge back seat to primal urges. That could also explain a lot about the rightwing.”

Katie Couric, Tavis Smiley, Bob Woodward, Nicholas Kristof, and I Hit YouTube with Pointers for Citizen Journalists

Commented Jun 30, 2009 at 09:32:05 in Media

“As I see it, citizen journalism is a viable conduit for localized news -- for and by the people.

Local, in conjunction with nation/international journalism, will have a far greater impact on the overall direction we as a country (and world) will take together in the near and distant future.

In our rapidly changing world, the internet affords us an opportunity to participate more significantly -- and for those who have been paying attention -- citizen journalism is an absolute must for any society that wishes to create, repair/regain, and maintain true democracy.”

“"As a group, they are the pop culture equivalent of necrotic carrion beetles, crawling with insectile determination from one infected open wound in the American psyche to another. The wounds include fear of race, fear of foreigners, fear of sexuality, fear of difference, hysterical religious fundamentalism, violent nationalism, and paranoia. They lay their eggs in the infected abrasion, then scuttle away. When the eggs hatch, disgorging rage and discontent, they start counting money."

That has got to be one of the most satisfying diatribes I've read in a very long time.”

How many "right wing conservative Christians" do you personally know? Do they all fit your nice little neat package of venomous hatred?
Because someone disagrees with you...doesn't make them wrong and you right. Do you understand the difference between an opinion and fact? I would ask you to understand that you are fallible in your understanding. Reading your post one would think that your thoughts are the very thoughts of the one who made everything and has total understanding.
In the long run...you denegrate yourself and your cause...what a shame and a waste of a life.”

Other than that ... he's swell.
