“I don't think that these conservatives see the damage that they are doing to their own children by either indoctrinating hate, or pretending that gay people "don't exist". Part of being a successful person is getting along with people in work a work enviorment. How will their children get along? Call their co worker a fag and need to get diversity training, or be fired? The real world does not look kindly upon people who are bigots and haters. When their children grow up, the world will most definitely be even more gay friendly, and more diverse. Keeping your children warm, safe, and well fed is a parent's job, and also teaching them to try to get along and respect others. So why are people who claim to be Christian and Christlike, so against who Christ was and all he stood for?? Why the hate, because of a pastor or preacher's point of view? Because by dividing us up and keeping us away from each other, it deepens your reliance on them?? “1) No, they aren't. Try watching the media through a critical eye sometime and you'll find that the majority of it reinforces conventional morality. Where unconventional morality is featured, it is almost always negatively (obviously, there are exceptions but they are few).
2) First off, I live in a country with legalised same-sex marriage. Secondly, there are absolutely stacks of studies done on this, the overwhelming majority of which say that being raised in a same-sex couple does kids no harm whatsoever (and we were talking about marriage, not child-rearing).
3) There have been a lot of studies done on what causes homosexuality, the problem is that few of them agree. Best guess is some kind of genetic componant, largely because we've eliminated most everything else. However, that still wouldn't mean there was anything negative about homosexuality.”

“Well, I don't know. They are also getting more and more lessons from media and school that morals are subjective and what makes you happy is what is morally right, like value clarification classes. If schools are providing specific lessons on morality, I think parents should be informed, especially when children are in the first grade.
