“One thing nobody seems to take into effect is the condition of the people involved thirty years later. Your not just sentencing Mr. Polanski but a father who's entire family is going to be impacted. For what the girl involved is now a full grown woman and doesn't seem to be evincing any outward signs of damage besides probably having made money from going on TV and being interviewed. Is justice just suppose to be about revenge.”

“From what I've heard there were extenuating circumstances. The mother was involved, he served the initial sentence but the judge reneged and demanded a different sentence. Everybody who opines about this case tries frame it in black and white terms which just confuses things more.”

“Go hunt down the transcript - it's here on HuPo somewhere. Her testimony is pretty clear. He let her talk to her mother while she was modeling for photos, THEN got her drunk and drugged and raped her. I think the mother should've been charged as an accomplice, but Polanski's guilt is undeniable... and he did plead guilty when it was dressed up in non-felony language.”
