“I agree with most of these, though they are pretty mainstream. I think most folks have scissor and prep bowls (but I could be wrong...) I like this list of that next group of kitchen gadgets that help you save time. These are things that you may not have thought of but once you own them you can't believe you ever lived without them. Happy cooking!
“Some good ideas but I have to share this list which I think takes grilled cheese to a whole new level with things like - Baked Potato Grilled Cheese, Fried Chicken and Waffle Grilled Cheese, and Apple Pie Grilled Cheese.
“School lunch is tricky. You want to make it healthy (or at least semi-healthy) but you don't want it to be so bland that your child throws it away and eats another kid's chips. I found this great list of ideas to make lunches more fun. These are all easy things that any busy mom can take a couple of minutes to do.
“Fun post. Totally resonates with me since I have NO style and yet have a 4 year old daughter who has been very specific about her style since age 2-3. It cracks me up how she lays out her clothes and thinks about what jewelry or berets will go with them. I did a whole list / blog post about her picks. Again - I'm not serious about this...its more entertaining than anything else!
“As a women who has tended to work in male-dominated fields (first finance and now technology), this article resonates with me. As a girl I was very into math, science and building. I played with my brother's LEGO way more than he did. I loved puzzles and problem solving and always knew I was good at math and science. I was lucky to have a father who nurtured these skills and confidence in me.
Now I have a daughter of my own and I hope to spark those same interests in my daughter. I think it starts young so I pulled together this list of tips, toys and ideas on getting (and keeping) girls interested in STEM.

“I agree with the comment below - if I go out for ice cream I'm not thinking its healthy...I'm just enjoying a treat. If you want healthier summer treats, you probably need to make them yourself. I found this list good for healthier alternatives to ice cream or popsickles. They are targeted at kids but I would enjoy most. And so easy to make!

“Yikes - all this talk and these articles scare me. And I'm not normally much of a worrier about such things. I don't eat a ton of processed food but I do eat out a fair bit - at fairly nice restaurants not fast food. I was also freaked out a little by this list of "Secrets Restaurants Never Want You to Know" although other people have told me it's not all true. Who has worked in restaurants - any thoughts?
“I like Ted Alexandro's comedy bit about "mystery."
"When you go to Mexico, they tell you not to drink the water. Guess who brings the water in just about every diner in the U.S.?... yep, it's a 'puzzle' and I love 'mystery.'"”

“I'm in agreement that I was not surprised that most of these foods are super salty. Personally I love salty things and I particularly love Salt & Vinegar potato chips (I'm Canadian where that flavor is big.) I am trying to cut back on salty foods and on potato chips in general. So rather than share foods with more salt, here are some alternatives you may not have thought of. They still satisfy that need for salt & crunch but are far healthier.
“Some great books here - I've read many of them. I always enjoyed reading books with strong female leads and now that I have a daughter I went about collecting up those types of books that are good for different ages. I enjoyed many of these as a girl or women and look forward to reading them with her. So here they are - maybe a whole other post for HuffPo:
“This reminds me of a great post that a friend wrote on the whole toddlers being kicked off a plane. As she puts it, better to sit near a crying toddler or an obnoxious drunk? I'd take option A. Though in reading about this recent incident, I think the kids (especially an 8 year old) are beyond being uncontrollable toddlers.

“As someone who *used to* drink 6-8 (or more) cans of Diet Coke per day, I am well aware of the ill effects of soda consumption. I've since decreased intake to 2-3 cans per day and hope to get that down to 1-2 cans. A work in progress. To kick start things, I first pulled together a list of facts (mostly scary) and blog posts on soda addiction. Some good reading here for those interested:
“I'm a fan of egg whites - mostly because I like the taste better than using whole eggs. Thanks for the recipe ideas. I thought I'd share this other list that I found (created by a woman who definitely knows her egg whites) that includes 10 ideas for egg whites. One ideas calls for PB&J...not so sure on that one!
“I'm a woman and take no offense to your comment. I think you may be right. I'm not speaking from personal experience but this infographic seems to support your assertion about the female libido (aka walking around horny!)
“These are weird. I get it for a museum but otherwise agree with the person below who said "these are so wrong on so many levels." In fact I added them to this list I found of weird things that includes meat leggings and a butt-less dress. Only Lady Gaga would wear these things.
“I'm a big fan of having dinner for breakfast (or breakfast for lunch and dinner for that matter.) Eggs whites are a perfect canvas for turning leftovers into breakfast as they are healthy themselves and pair well with just about anything. Love this of ideas for eggs whites - I promise you will find more than one idea you will love!
“I can't wait to check some of these out. I'm a big fan of documentaries. I've created a whole list of ones that I love including a few music documentaries. One you may want to add to this slideshow is "It Might Get Loud" by Davis Guggenheim (who also did An Inconvenient Truth and Waiting for Superman.)
“I am liking the brownies and the liquor glasses but not so sure more men would appreciate some of these other ideas. I'm a fan of Etsy but my gut is most of the stores appeal more to women then men. I really like a few of the ideas on this list, including the Personalized Transit Scrolls (which is from Etsy) and the Instagram Photos on Canvas from CanvasPop.

“Agreed with most of the comments below that much of being healthy is just common sense. That being said, I like this list of how you can eat more but lose weight. PS...I don't work for any cheesy diet company...these are just simple ideas from a healthy living blogger.
