“Chris Hansen is a hypocrite. He has been around this country with hidden camera, "To catch A Predator." Beyond he himself is a cheater, cheating on his wife and showing and emailing explicit photos of himself to his mistress. What a shame and disgrace. He ought to be ashamed of himself.”

Thank you for the opportunity to discuss the issue of undocumented immigrants in the US with you. I am sure that you and I can not come to an agreement on how to address the issue of regularizing their status. You believe that they should live here for decades beore they can be granted the opportunity of citizenship. On the contrary, I believe that they should have the opportunity of legal status to citizenship within five to six years. While I disagree with your premise, I do appreciate the opportunity to debate the issue with you. Once again, thank you and good luck.”

“Dan 1963

I know you are a very smart person and I don't intend to question your ability to think critically. I know, you know that you cannot compare someone breaking into your home to someone entering the US without proper documentation. Someone breaking into your means two or more things. The person who breaks into your home either wants to steal from you, or to do you harm. I believe that the people that entered the US do not intend to steal from you and do you harm. Rather, they entered the country in order to work and support their families. In doing so, they are paying taxes, through purchases they are making. You can not penalize them more by making them wait decades to regularize their status. In fact these people come here, for the same reason your forefathers come here. The ability to be freed. The only difference is that they did not have to go through the long and exhaustive waiting period in order to enter the country. I am sure that you and I are on the same pace. The only thing that sets us apart I believe is the idea of your open ended process and my timeline of five to six years process.”

“Most of the illegal aliens in this country are here to earn an honest living. Some are criminals. All of the people who want to come here legally want to earn an honest living. The people who broke our laws to come here should not be given preferential treatment. They should be welcome but they should get in the back of the line. The people who budge in front at an amusement park should be sent to the back of the line. Not tell the others who wait patiently "well they budged because they want the same thing as you so you should let them go first"
What sets us apart is the fact that you think what they did is OK and I don't. They should have waited in line just like the family from Mexico trying to do it right.”

“Dan- You based your position on the argument that "the people broke the law"... In the first place coming here without the proper documentation is like speeding beyond the required speed limit. Haven't you gone above the speed limit? I bet you or someone you know might have broken the trafic rule. A sage once said, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her". You know each of us have a stone awiting us. THINK ABOUT THAT THOUGHT.”

Dan1963 on Feb 22, 2013 at 16:17:05

“That is a stupid argument. People illegally entering this country is more like breaking and entering someones home than speeding.
I am not saying send them back. I am saying there are those who did not break the law and budge to the front of the line. They should receive preferential treatment over those who broke the law.
I am not throwing stones but you are throwing stones at the innocent that have waited patiently while these others think they can just push them out of the way”

“I appreciate President Obama's effort in working on the comprehensive immigration reform. I believe that it is absolutely necessary to to modernize our immigration system. I congratulate President who all those involve in the dialogue. However, my concern is the duration of having undocumented immigrants becoming full flesh citizens. Some of these people have been in this country for over two decades. Some are nearly sixty years old and over. Mr. President, it will certainly be the prudent thing to do, not to delay these our neighbors, our friends anymore due burden of becoming citizens. I think waiting until after eight years before applying for green card, and five years before applying for citizenship is a burden that is so heavy, discouraging and unrealistic and unsympathetic.”

Dan1963 on Feb 22, 2013 at 05:16:31

“Elijah, If the people who broke the law to come here two decade ago had done it the right way they would be citizens already. The burden lies with them. I agree they need a path to citizenship but the line starts behind those who are trying to do it correctly and not circumvent our laws.”

“".... a burden that is so heavy, discouraging and unrealistic and unsympathetic." REALLY? ANY concern for the "burden", that illegal aliens have placed on Tax paying citizens & legal residents? YOU know, illegal aliens receiving FREE health care, food stamps, subsidized housing, FREE education for their children (yes, it's the law, BUT if they were NOT here, WE would NOT be paying for their education), TANF, heating/cooling subsidies, WIC, etc, etc, etc. WHEN this whole thing started, it was stated that illegal aliens would go to the "Back of the line". NOW, having to WAIT 5 years or more is too onerous! "BACK of the line" means "BACK of the line"! IF the wait in their "Home country" would be 20 years, citizenship should NOT be conferred before 20 years!”
