“Yeah, I know so many smart southerners I have to teach myself to listen to what's said. Wonderful for TEDtalks, You listen to words not accents and you get amazed by the awesome. It's easy to think the next Einstein will be born in Kenya but Alabama or Georgia we get foolish.”

“Is this guy faking the southern accent just to seem more ignorant? I honestly feel sad for smart southerners because when they start talking people associate it with stupid, willfully ignorant people like this guy. "Science is a huge scam by hard working incredibly bright, underpaid people that takes your faith away from unworking, highly paid, coniving, con artists. It's the devil!"”

“I recently started listening to "The Brain Science Podcast", hosted by a Dr. Ginger Campbell from Alabama. I have to admit that it is very tough to get my mind into a learning mode when someone is speaking in a thick southern accent.”

“It's not that sudden. Christians have noticed for years that people dislike and distrust religion. That's why "You're not an atheist you're agnostic" has been replaced with "I don't have a religion either I have a relationship with jesus" as the christian dogmatic phrase when dealing with rational atheists.”

“Kind of like O'Reilly saying that Christianity is not a religion, it is a philosophy!! What a joke.”

“That sounds a bit trite, but I admit, better than being a member of an organized religion. Personal beliefs may be odd or obnoxious, but they don't involve indoctrination, huge tax breaks, and removing reason from public forum. If a person says "I believe Science is Evil" they don't get put on the Science congressional board. If a person says "I must ensure Science is according to the dictates of moneyed corporation/organized religion I follow" they get that Science congressional seat, and can hold the US back from competing internationally.”

“Funny this came out the same week a scientist is going to prison for fabricating and falsifying data in favor of the health benefits of red wine.”
