“By his own admission, he was more attracted sexually to women. Viewing women in high school as unattractive because they have nasty attitudes is hardly an admission of homosexuality. Furthermore, being able to be intimate emotionally, and hug another man is also not necessarily gay. American culture immediately deems men who hug and touch one another as gay. Other cultures don't think twice about it.”

“I think I don't get your reply and I don't think you read the comment to which I replied. I'm neither jealous or hateful of someone I don't know. My remark is facetious and sarcastic reply to the person's comment about "hating on our own people." I still don't get who "our own people" is. But it is, pretty much a racist remark without "Honest 1981" even knowing it. It's kind of like "some of my best friends are..."”

“I've been on leave from my job for the last three months because my husband is home recovering from an accident. As stressful as it's been, I have felt so free from my toxic work environment. People are negative, petty and they backstab. I didn't realize how much it has shaken my confidence and brought me down. I come home worn out, but my work is physical (I work at a zoo) and I think I just convinced myself that I was spent because of the work, and not the people sucking the life out of me. Simultaneously to all this, I began attending my yoga center almost daily to keep my sanity, stay centered and relaxed. The sharp contrast of being surrounded by people who are positive, encouraging, nurturing, joyful and see value in everyone, has been wonderful. I'm trying to be joyful, appreciative, grateful, and honoring of my day and others around me. It's funny how good it makes one feel, but also how it boosts self-esteem and self-confidence, and that transfers into daily habits. I'm trying to avoid saying things like, "I can't," "It's just not happening," "I don't like," and other language that wires me for negativity and failure, rather than language and thinking that wires me for success in my work and in my relationships. This was a nice article to read. A refreshing change from most of the stuff that spawns nasty banter and malice.”

She felt happy and energetic, and her jowls (according to her) made her look tired and unhappy. But let me tell you, her body is banging. And having grown up during the Jane Fonda workout years, that woman is IN SHAPE. You could bounce a dime off her butt.”

“The most attractive are the ones who haven't succumbed to surgery. Several of them would look drop-dead gorgeous if the HADN'T gone under the knife, or at the worst, had very little done. Jessica Lange, Prescilla Presley, Faye Dunaway -- major beauties who now look terrible. Then you see the likes of Lauren Hutton, Diane Keaton, Helen Mirren, Sally Field and Sigourney Weaver, who are vehemently opposed to surgery. They look stunning. They look like themselves, just with a few more years. It's really a strong testament to leaving well enough alone. Sadly, there's a real hypocritical attitude toward celebrities. They get bashed for looking old, and then they get bashed for having plastic surgery.”

“Sorry, but Lauren Hutton looks awful.”

MindyM on Oct 19, 2013 at 16:23:08

“Sorry, but those women you mentioned as vehemently opposed to plastic surgery, have had work done. Just check out pictures of them when they were younger. Lauren Hutton has had a lot of work done and so has Sally Field and Sigourney Weaver. And I am not talking about just getting injections.

I don't know about Diane Keaton and Helen Mirren. I think there is so much pressure on women who are in the entertainment industry, that it's inevitable they will have to get some work done.

I do agree with you about Jessica Lange, Priscilla Presley and Faye Dunaway. They were beauties who now look terrible.”

PlayDay on Oct 19, 2013 at 16:16:45

“The only one I really KNOW about is Sally Field. I'm familiar with who her surgeon was/is. He does a great job! Wish I could afford it.”

LeslieStar on Oct 19, 2013 at 16:07:57

“Helen Mirren has had slight tweaks done. Sally Fields has had some work done and talked about it many years ago. Jane Fonda has had work done and wrote about it on her blog, Susan Sarandon recently had a nip and tuck. Almost all the actresses pictured have had work done except maybe, maybe Diane Keaton, Jessica Lange and perhaps Sissy Spacek. In my opinion there's nothing wrong in having a few things done. What looks horrible is when the actress tries to erase every sign of aging and all signs of life from their face and end up looking like an alien. Cher and Priscilla Presley went down that road. Just my opinion.”

Muzzle Me on Oct 19, 2013 at 15:26:32

“The ones you mentioned that are (supposedly) "vehemently" opposed to surgery, not possible. One doesn't arrive at the age of 60, at least, and not have ANY wrinkles around their eyes or crease between their eyebrows. I would have to say, botox and fillers are their BFF's. And, most folks who get those treatments, don't consider it any form of plastic "surgery". So, in that regard, they can claim they haven't had any "work" done.”

Sadly, much of the American public is very indirectly responsible for this. Most Americans do not read thoroughly or investigate what their constituents truly stand for, what their records are, and what their policy and voting histories are. Then we vote (or don't) and now we are represented by an irresponsible bunch of babies who would rather serve their own agendas than serve the American people and serve with the American public's best interest at heart. “"I have my own high standards for what I want in a partner and how I want to be treated." Perhaps Ms. Lopez sets standards and demands that no one individual can ever rise to the occasion. When you set standards -- and high ones, no less -- for what you want in a person and how you want to be treated, you establish expectations that will always leave you disappointed because you set a person up for failure and yourself for disappointed. If he wasn't meeting her high standards and not treating her well enough for her expectations, those behaviors would've shown themselves very early on, and she would've ended it. Why go this long and then say he isn't meeting your standards or treating you the way you want? Perhaps her high standards are beyond what any one person can do to meet her needs. Perhaps, after multiple failed relationships and three divorces by the age of 44, she could spend some time in introspection, and figure out how she can meet her own needs so future partners can actually succeed in a relationship with her.”

“I'm so curious about this show. I've never seen it, but I keep hearing/reading comments about it's quality and the stellar acting/directing/producing, etc. It's so hard to catch up to current seasons when you have 4 or 5 whole seasons to get through. Seems like most TV shows these days are continuations like soap operas are. They don't have individual episodes so you can tune in sporadically and still be in the loop. Appears that this show is worth catching up to.”

“Yes and no. Women are more easily deemed as vulgar than men when both are behaving equally poorly. And this situation is no different. It is interesting that Robin Thicke, a married man, who stood on stage with his pelvis shoved forward toward a 20-year-old young woman, is never mentioned as being vulgar. Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler have made dangling, wagging tongues their trademarks, along with gyrating and licking on various phallic symbols on stage. No one has ever made this big a deal about it. There is still a double standard, and this one is no different. While I agree with you that vulgarity shouldn't be gender-specific, we see all the time that, in fact, it is.”

“Sadly, as much as I'd like her to be wrong, I think she still is correct on many levels. Women are still hired, graded and promoted with their appearances being a big factor. Especially, in Ms. Streep's and Ms. Cyrus's industry. And many actresses have lost good roles because they didn't go nude. They will also tell you that there aren't enough good roles for older women, because older women aren't bankable. Even people like Hillary Clinton, with her resume as First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State, is often put down by both men and women for not being attractive. As if it matters! Women have come a long way; but in many ways our value is still ascertained by our bodies and our appearances. If it weren't, then facial injectables and breast augmentation wouldn't be the booming and growing businesses they are.”

ItWasntMeReally on Oct 14, 2013 at 22:26:43

This is exactly what she was talking about. Nothing is private, sacred or respected as a private aspect of your life that is no one's business but yours. How ironic that celebrities like Ms. Foster struggle to preserve her privacy and others -- reality folks and the public at large -- strive to have every minute of their lives broadcast and known on visual and social media.
