“So much ado about nothing. The media is blowing this all out of proportion and the lemmings are buying it. Pretty soon there are going to be more terrorists than rats. Any nutcake will do.”

Commented Dec 19, 2009 at 04:45:45 in Green

“I sat here in Copenhagen and watched these so called activists who FLY all over the world making a living off their activism and asked myself - what is there personal contribution? Why aren't they teleconferencing? Do they drive cars? Do they make their own clothes? Do they recycle? Do they live in energy efficient homes? Are they personally willing to do what it takes? Global warming may - or may not be man made - but climate change activism has become an industry and the money and energy that was wasted in Copenhagen leaves me feeling a little bit like que sera sera.”

“Did she really love the Tiger or just the Tiger's cash? When I see all the bimbos on the arms of professional athletes - even the ugly ones - I gotta believe they know the score. Would Elin have married Tiger if he wasn't rich? I think not. Trophy wives can't expect much more than a life on the shelf. There are always two sides to every (sordid) story.”

Democrats Lash Out At Obama Over Health Care Disappointments

Democrats Lash Out At Obama Over Health Care Disappointments

Commented Dec 16, 2009 at 14:11:56 in Politics

“Amazing how few people get it. Just the fact that no one can be denied insurance because of pre-existing conditions is a major, major victory. Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare. Slowly but surely President Obama is delivering on most of his campaign promises.

Keep the pressure up, but don't despair or disparage.”

TucsonDean replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 16:52:54

“I am a Dem and helped elect this President - so my comments aren't contrary just to be contrary. What you're missing is that what's left in the bill in no preexisting conditions and lifetime cost caps, and a requirement to purchase health insurance. The insurance companies will then simply raise their premiums to cover the additional costs of covering preexisting conditions and the ongoing costs of the chronically ill, and you and I will be forced to pay whatever they charge by law. Anything that might have helped contain costs is gone, and that's what the majority of people really needed.”

sviolette replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 14:19:08

“Then why are only 31 million Americans going to get insurance? The insurance companies will be able to charge people with pre existing conditions twice as much as someone without any pre existing conditions. Having acne as a teenager is a pre existing condition. They can't deny you insurance they just double your cost. You people need to get with the program and find out what is in this bill before you either buy into it or oppose it.”

bilmardre replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 14:17:40

“The fact that anyone was ever denied insurance because of a pre-existing condition is criminal.
Praising the fact that this is being removed is like praising someone for having the decency to stop beating you.
And Congress can point the finger at the President all they want. I for one will not be voting for a incumbent in Congress for a long time. It is time to send a message.”

hopepad08 replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 14:17:36

“Some of the ones complaining about Joe and other Senators wanting what the want, don't seem to get that they are doing exactly the same thing. No PO, kill the bill, no Medicare for all, kill the bill. A bill that gives millions of people the opportunity to get affordable HC by choosing a plan and company they can afford, a plan that put a stop to pre-existing denial, and a plan that eliminates the caps, sound almost like a PO to me.”

DGarr replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 14:16:37

“I agree. I never under estimate this administration. If they can pass this bill, it will save lives. They can always make changes over the next few years.”

Prakosh replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 14:16:17

“The fact that no one can be denied is meaningless without cost control. If you have to buy "high risk" health insurance once you have a pre-existing condition what has been gained?”

sposton replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 14:15:59

“They can write a two page bill for all the good these thousands of pages of this bill contain.”

Acolyte replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 14:14:42

“Yeah, they can't deny, but they can charge anything they want. This entire bill is an automatic millions of customers that will be forced to buy insurance from the same private sector that has caused the problems in the first place That is nOT victory!”
