“In other news, former CNBC Correspondent Mike Hegedus just doesn't get it.
Like Mr. Stewart said, referring to Cramer: "This isn't about you!". Stewart IS going after "the bigger nail", as you put it, and he is doing the job that CNBC should be doing if they had any journalistic integrity.
Jon Stewart, to his credit, is simply attempting to open peoples eyes to the dirty tricks that hedge-fund managers and brokers have been using for years, a job that CNBC and other financial "news" outlets would be doing if they weren't in bed with the manipulators and crooks who drive the markets.
The pump&dump strategies, like the ones Cramer has admitted to using, are commonplace in the arena, and Jon Stewart is simply letting people know. The point, which you've either failed to realize or purposefully glossed over, is that CNBC should be informing people of this reality instead of being the complicit partners in the highly dubious enterprise. They are no better than an infomercial, and they have the gall to call themselves "journalists".
The "job" of a journalist is to inform the public of matters which affect them. In the competition for the title of "journalist", Jon Stewart just crushed Jim Cramer, and more importantly, CNBC.
Until "real" journalists begin doing their job, Jon Stewart is a more-than-adequate surrogate.”

Great post, Mr. Watson. This policy is one of the reasons that many of us voted for President Obama. We're tired of the perpetual war machine created by the lunatic fringe on all sides of global conflicts, from the Taliban to the neo-con chicken hawks who secure their power and make obscene profits creating all sorts of avoidable confrontations.
In addressing the new realities being pursued by President Obama and his diplomatic staff, the Limbaugh-led republicans will have aneurysms, squeal that we are "doooomed!" and do whatever they can to derail the process. Let 'em try. Like Bu$h, they would rather pursue a military option FIRST than to pursue diplomacy and solve problems like civilized humans. Their sole argument is to say that "our enemy is not civilized" and that liberals are naive. My only rebuttal is to say that I'd rather TALK to the Taliban or North Korea BEFORE they try to attack us.
Republicans love to quote Winston Churchill when it suits their purposes. However, they rarely cite his most famous and most important quotation, made at a White House luncheon on June 26, 1954...
It is ‘better to jaw-jaw than to war-war’

“You are correct that he is a CEO today. Does that make his opinion of the card check wrong?
Do a little research, he used to be that "worker on the floor" you are talking about. He's been on both sides, unlike alot of people. He worked hard, took some risks & look where he is today. A huge Obama supporter and very opposed to the card check.
And if it weren't for Mr Buffets risks that he took over the years, that factory worker on the floor might not have a job at all.
Now, should that worker on the floor be grateful to Mr Buffett for being employed, or should he/she be mad that they don't make as much as him?”

“To rebut ALL of your anti-union misinformation, I will simply say
EFCA DOES NOT TAKE AWAY THE SECRET BALLOT.
Please read the bill if you don't believe me: http://tho mas.loc.go v/cgi-bin/ query/z?c1 10:H.R.800 :
What is anti labor afraid of??
Employees are fired in one-quarter of private-sector union organizing campaigns;
78 percent of companies require supervisors to deliver anti-union messages to the workers whose jobs and pay they control;
And even after workers successfully form a union, one-third of the time they are not able to get a contract.
What will EFCA do?
1. Strengthens penalties against companies that illegally coerce or intimidate employees in an effort to prevent them from forming a union;
2. Brings in a neutral third party to settle a contract when a company and a newly certified union cannot agree on a contract after three months;
3. Lets employees decide how to express their choice to organize, either by balloting or by majority sign-up, meaning that if a majority of the employees sign union-authorization cards, validated by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), a company must recognize the union.
See #3? EFCA will give workers a CHOICE (secret) balloting OR majority sign up.
-----
Isn't it hilarious that these anti-union tr0lls are now claiming that they are such champions of the workers? Big business has spent millions on a PR campaign to deliberately spread this misinformation and scare people away from EFCA.”

“Anti Labor Management is afraid of losing the ability;
To interrogate employees regarding their union sympathies,
Threaten that supervisors will no longer grant employees requests for time off,
That supervisors will not approve schedule changes,
And threaten that employees will lose their jobs if they selected the Union to represent them.
They are also worried that if a Union is certified they will be required to enter into negotiations with the Union within a set time line.”
