“This doesn't even begin to address the problem though. If there is an emergency and this guy has to go through a window escape he'll probably get stuck, causing a lot of people to die. This is an issue the airlines need to address. I'm almost ready to agree with Ron Reagan today who said that people who are that morbidly obese should be banned from flying because of the safety issue they cause.”

“Global warming does NOT cause earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. It causes crazy weather. Earthquakes and volcanoes are seismic events and global warming has no influence on that.
That being said, we do need to do something to mitigate global warming, but to think we can stop it now with just cap and trade is ridiculous.”

“reality check time.
Clinton actually sent missiles in to try and take OUT Bin Laden. Read your history. He didn't ignore Bin Laden, BUSH did. The Aug 26th PDB that was read to Bush by a CIA agent talking about how "binLaden was determined to strike within the United States" was responded to by Bush " Thanks, now get your ass out of here".
Bush was informed by the CIA, Richard Clark and even George Tenet and PURPOSEFULLY ignored this. Cheney decided he would be the person in charge of terrorism and NEVER held a meeting about it. Cheney also told the military to stand down on 9/11. Why? um Halliburton made a boatload of money in Iraq, that's why!”

“do you have any idea how silly this sounds? CZars aren't appointed. Czarsare ceasars, and inherit the position. Obama is not calling these people Czars, they are basically the head policy wonks. It's the rt wing calling them Czars, in a whiney falsetto voice because they know that these people are experts in their fields and might get good things done that they've been fighting against for years.”

Nobody ever even vetted Obama. You should thank FOX that they did not demand Obamas college records and papers or Illinois senate schedules or his client list when he was a lawyer. Do you only want the press to investigate people you hate?”

“Van Jones is an attorney, who also started an organization called greenforall.org, which was started to bring people of color out of poverty with green jobs and opportunities . He is now the Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ).. He's a brilliant and wonderful guy, who is trying to bring green jobs and values to the inner city. Google him, look him up on Wiki, and youtube him. There are a lot of videos with him in it and he's got great ideas. He co-founded Color of Change, which is now successfully stripping Glenn Beck of his sponsors. "In 2008, Time magazine named Jones one of its "Environmental Heroes."[7] Fast Company called him one of the "12 Most Creative Minds of 2008."" That Ms Whitman doesn't like his ideas is a feather in his cap. I love Van Jones, He's a remarkable young man with great ideas, and one of the smartest appointments that Obama has made. I hope he runs for higher office someday. You'll be glad you youtubed him. And you need to watch more than NBC world news and read the papers. Start watching Democracy Now, Blue Grit, and listening to Air America, especially Ring of Fire, to catch the relavent news so you would know what you missed. You can listen to all of that on line. The news on the networks is basically canceled. It's irrelevant.”

So you think it's appropriate for a member of Barack Obama's administration to coordinate an attack against a journalist who is critical of the government? That doesn't make you stop and think even for a moment?
I won't argue that such tactics CAN help a government achieve its aims. Hugo Chavez has found that cooperating with friendly news outlets and putting UNFRIENDLY ones out of BUSINESS, has simplified things for him considerably.
Vladimir Putin also enjoys a good working relationship with his country's press. With their help, he was able to convince people that they would be better served if he himself APPOINTED their individual regional Governors. Having the citizens of each province choose their OWN leaders is so 1996! Good thing the press was there to tell people this was a good idea.”

“"so what do i know" ?
Apparently, not much. Waterboarding is torture by U.S. statute. And by common sense. Go ahead, have it done to you like Mancow. Show us you're a "man" and can "take it". Oh btw, let them tie you down, and you don't get a plastic toy cow to release when you've had enough. Let a doctor monitor your finger to tell us if your don't have enough oxygen in your blood, while your mind is wild with blind panic. Then tell us. Is it torture? I bet you dollars to donuts you wouldn't last 2 seconds let alone 30.
If you want it to be REAL, you have to have a piece of cloth shoved down your throat so you can't close your throat.. So as the water is poured on your face for 30 seconds - not 6 - that you can get up and away from- goes into your LUNGS. Mancow did the "sissy" version of waterboarding. Do you have the balls to do the real one?
There's a reason that the Inquisition called this "Tortura d'Agua" (for dumbasses that means Water Torture) because it was. They did this to accused witches to get the to reveal names of others that "were fellow witches". None were. False confessions. Just like we tried to get false confessions that there was a link between Al Qaeda and Iraq. And amazingly, waterboarding never revealed a sustainable and useable link. Wonder why that is? BECAUSE THERE WASN"T”
