“I'm a little shocked that some people are willing to admit in front of a camera that they facilitated and/or committed fraud on a regular basis thinking nobody will ever punish them because they were told to do it by superiors.

So as much as was pushed from the top down by CEOs, Presidents, Governors, etc., there seems to be no shortage of people willing to do something so blatantly criminal in the trenches.”

So the last time he was elected to office was 17 years ago? Seems to me that the voters of Illinois (not that it matters) have already decided they don't want the guy, but to make things more complicated, Obama endorsed him one of the times he ran for office and lost (and ran against Blago to boot, which makes you question his motivation).

Sadly the "change" mantra doesn't matter anymore when it isn't the change Senators want. The GOP is just sitting aside and laughing on this one I can imagine (although you can probably draw some parallels to Franken/Coleman here).”

“So the Spanish prosecutor that went after Pinochet did so because a Spanish citizen was involved and that sure made traveling for him a royal headache. So what is stopping someone who has been tortured and let go from going about it in a similar fashion? It seems that a person who was mistakenly detained and tortured could probably make for a good case. Pinochet didn't have to go to Spain to get detained, so it could create some headaches for those who might want to travel.

Not saying its likely to happen, but it seems they can causes quite a bit of hassle for anyone who wants to step up.”
