“Was the store out of the traditional fruit cake or was Harry & David too pricey for these guys? Ironic that they used this as a Christmas greeting. Funny how the Bible I have has a Jesus who didn't care about other's bigotry and preached to whoever he wanted.”

“Parodies are considered fair use. So would playing the original on a radio or talk show if the purpose was to discuss it. Lots of other stuff like this fall under fair use fortunately (or unfortunately).”

“It seems that everyone alternates how much employees make ($56k) with how much each employee with all the legacy costs factored in cost ($100K a year).
And I would love to see someone who keeps calling it "unskilled" labor do the job. A grerter at Wal-Mart is unskilled.”

“So the Spanish prosecutor that went after Pinochet did so because a Spanish citizen was involved and that sure made traveling for him a royal headache. So what is stopping someone who has been tortured and let go from going about it in a similar fashion? It seems that a person who was mistakenly detained and tortured could probably make for a good case. Pinochet didn't have to go to Spain to get detained, so it could create some headaches for those who might want to travel.
Not saying its likely to happen, but it seems they can causes quite a bit of hassle for anyone who wants to step up.”

“We have enough to do with out going over the last eight years! We have to save the U.S. from the mess it's in! Not focus on the past! Enough already! Revenge is just stupid! Hear that?”

“Previous Cars of the Year:
1971 Chevy Vega
1974 Mustang II
1975 Chevy Monza
1980 Chevy Citation
1983 Renault/AMC Alliance
Awards don't mean much (see above) if they can't sell enough of them to be profitable (which I believe is the case with the Saturn Aura) or if the cars themselves win because you buy a lot of advertising (the winners above are probably not going to be showing up at the Jackson Barrett auction any time soon as collector cars). I know that the Aura and Malibu are probably some of the best mass production cars that Detroit has made ever, but they if they don't move off the lot, it doesn't matter.
I find it very interesting how many tangents people are going off on when it is simple economics. Why did the CEO's take a private jet? Because their time is valuable, and because they can't afford to be late for congress when the company's future could be at stake.
So which is a worse sin? Making products people don't want or spending too much money doing it? Taking care of the later won't take care of the former and in my book the former is what is killing them. BMW makes some cars in Germany with arguably a more expensive workforce and they still manage to sell them at a profit because they are cars people want and are willing to buy without a $5k incentive or 0% financing.”
