“Some jerk would put poison in the food here in the U.S. Or someone would sue the owner of the fridge because they got food poisoning or ate something they were allergic to. Someone always screws up a great idea.”
“They will get over it if dad stops making such a big deal out of it. My son found porn on his computer that we got from a friend and we downplayed it. He doesn't remember it, three years later. He was 5.”
“My son was diagnosed with T1D last year at the age of 10 (on his birthday, actually) I feel so bad for these children but am amazed, daily, by their strength. They are AWESOME kids, every single one of them!”
“What in the world is happening to this country?Calling the cops because children are playing??? Heaven forbid!
Two nights ago my son was at his friends house. He was due home at 5, which is when we have dinner. At 5:30 he arrived with friend in tow. They got dinner (yes, we fed his friend) and got hot chocolate. On further questioning, during dinner, I asked how they got to our house. They had walked! I didn't think much about it,just refused to let the boy return home without a coat, even offering one of our coats for him.Though It was 12 degrees, they had walked a mile in the dark through a field.I told him he either called for a ride or he was spending the night. We have no car so he had to call his mom.
They survived, just like we did when we did stupid things like that. The whole point of being young is to do stupid things, to learn from mistakes and grow from the experience. We are raising a bunch of wussies who can't think for themselves because we don't allow them to cross the street.
My Free Rangers (by the way, my 26 year old was my Free Ranger in 1989, not a new phrase) are outside for hours by themselves. They are 13 and 9 and if anyone called the cops for letting my kids play like kids, I've got a size 12 foot for their butts.”
“My boys are so different from each other. Older is in public school, goes to his friends' houses for sleepovers and hates being in the snow. Youngest is my snow bunny, hates the heat, going places, has few friends and is home schooled. They are both happy and healthy and that's all that matters. So what if my house is a mess because neither of them have cleaned up after themselves today? Things will get picked up, later. No need to stress.”
“Problem is, even if you outlaw the guns, they are still out there. The only ones with guns after the outlawing of them is outlaws. This leaves the "common man" in the position of being unable to defend himself. I agree that the high capacity guns and clips should be banned but there are many that say ALL guns should be outlawed. That would be wrong.”

“Amen! The number of lives saved and rapes prevented because of guns is vastly under-reported.”
