“I said it before, does not matter, They have rigged There districts so they will win no matter what.”

“That works in the House where they come from small districts, statewide it is different. I don't think Paul Ryan could win a Senator's seat in Wisconsin. Still people are stupid and memories fade. These senators are morse concerned with the gun industry and lobby, rather that the will of the people”

“I wouldn't qualify him as a hypocrite. He's not supporting equal marriage opportunities for his son and no one else.
I would classify this as simply an eye-opening experience and a chance to finally understand what it is like for other families in his position.”

“Sen. Portman said he supports gay marriage because he wants his son to have the same opportunity for happiness that he has with his wife.
BUT Sen. Portman said recognition of the right to same-sex marriage should be left up to the states. And, of course, civil rights law has had such a successful history under the majoritarian tyranny of referenda and legislatures.
So Junior can have equal protection some places at some times even if it takes until Hell freezes over before he is truly a first class citizen.

“Maybe. But personally I'd like to think that at least some of our elected leaders are capable of processing new information and new experiences and sometimes changing their minds based on what they learn.”
There are 235,413 persons earning $1,000,000.00 or more a year.
8,274 earning $10,000,000.00 a year or more.
1,470 worth $100,000,000.00 or more.
These people own 80% of all publicly traded stock and make 40% of all the money annually.
...and half of the United States doesn't earn enough income to pay taxes. 1 in 3 children live in poverty. 1 in 6 adults live in poverty. 40% of households are receiving some form of government assistance. 46 million adults are on food stamps.
308 million people never get bailed out when they make a bet and it doesn't pay off.
308 million people don't get loans directly from the Federal Reserve.
308 million people don't get free health care, guaranteed pensions, government backed insurance on business deals, government back loan guarantees, tax subsidies, government financing, legislation protecting markets. The current Congress and Senate are the richest in the nation's history with 90% of them in the top ten percent of wealth. The news media finds nothing wrong with this, your government can't figure out what is wrong with this, the rich feel like they deserve free tax payer bail outs, loans, guarantees because that is what capitalism is...free money for those who already have more than they will ever need. America has failed as a democracy.”

“When most people talk about half the people not paying income taxes, they forget that a lot of people don't earn enough to do so (though they do payroll taxes, etc). They act like they are all willfully leeching on the system. Sure, some are. And some of the people who don't pay taxes can afford to but for one reason or another the tax code misses them. But by and large, the poor is too more to pay in.
Good post! I am sure someone will come along to troll it, which is too bad.”

“So go and earn your own. Why take from people who figured out how to make it? Who are you to determine how much someone will ever need?”
RightRealDeal on Oct 7, 2011 at 15:42:24
“is this your way of advocating taking other people's money from them?”
