Emanuel: U.S. Is Fed Up With Israel, Palestinians
Commented Jan 06, 2010 at 14:56:41 in Home
“Israel has p*ss*d off the world for far too long. The U.S. is the only one keeping them afloat by sending them money, intellectual property and weapon systems and I'm very tired of seeing my tax dollars used to keep this rogue state alive. They need to either relocate their citizenry to a less contentious part of the world or stop stonewalling the establishment of Palestine.”
Adam Jacobowitz replied on Jan 06, 2010 at 19:43:08
“Really?? why is Israel's right to exist always questioned? Nobody questions the right of Pakistan to exist (formed by the splitting of India), or the right of the US to exist (Remember Native Americans?) or all the African countries formed by European colonialism.”

“Completely outrageous. Tiger doesn't need rehab. He's following his male biological imperative just like most men. Too bad so many women know NOTHING about evolutionary biology.”
Militant Leftist replied on Jan 03, 2010 at 21:01:54
“Agree 100%. This "imperative" was essential for the survival of our species, and remains hard-wired into every male, the origins of which are ancient. Now contrast this with the emergence of so-called, "civilized" behavior which by comparison, is a few eons old at best. Which influence is more powerful? You go Tiger!”
JShankel replied on Jan 03, 2010 at 20:48:15
“News flash, sparky: women understand evolutionary biology just fine. They have no interest in deferring to men's imperatives because they have their own to contend with.
Men have the imperative to mate with as many partners as possible, because male investment in reproduction is low and the best strategy is to produce as many offspring as possible.
Women have the imperative to be choosy and territorial about mating because their investment in reproduction is huge.
Too bad so many men know nothing about THAT.”

“So true. If we worked harder to establish better relations with the world Muslim community and took Isra*l out from under our wing (which is what this is all about, in case you have followed the thread for the past 10 or more years), we wouldn't have this escalating mess. Americans are exceptionally ethnocentric, believing that we are the master society. We live in a global village and there is NO winning what has become, by all appearances, a fight with the Muslim world.”

“Agree with another poster - like a toy. So long as it's on the AT&T network, I won't be switching. I can't afford to be the host of a conference call and lose the connection in the middle of it. If you're in the business world you can't accept less than the best & most stable technology. Also, the Verizon network has FAR more 3G locations in the country than AT&T. There's no comparison despite the counter-ads you're seeing from AT&T with the guy throwing around postcards. There are a number of very cool, very advanced touch screen phones coming out over the next 6 - 12 months that will eclipse even future versions of the iPhone. Apple never learned the "RCA vs Sony / VHS vs Beta" lesson and will rue the day that they made the decision to do all dev work in-house.”

“Hmmm - that's a good question. My unit is 35 years old and has been worked on, either at the factory or a local authorized repair shop, a total of 3 times in that period. It's never had the volume/balance/tone controls worked on and I've never had a problem. The only work I've had done is a capacitor going bad - same one - 3 times. The amp weighs over 50 lbs because of the massive transformers, but can shake the house, without the speakers distorting, if turned up even half way. I love McIntosh. It's awesome, highly engineered technology. There are a lot of other great amps out there as you know but I've never had a reason to replace this one.”

“Aside from (possibly) the B&W Nautilus, these are all forgettable. They are symptomatic of the iPod generation's approach to music which is to be satisfied with 128k-bit-rate reproduction through earbuds. That's NOT music. Real music comes from a REAL audio system that uses an analog source such as vinyl, a high end, low noise amp-preamp tube system driving audiophile-quality speakers. My JBL 100 speakers, driven by a McIntosh amp/preamp combination, both bought in the early 1970s, are as different from iPod/MP3 music as a Porsche is from a Yugo. These cradles for iPods, that combine speakers and an amp in one unit, are a joke from an audio point of view. I agree with an earlier poster who said that the only way to buy speakers is to close your eyes and have the sales person switch between different speakers. The amp should be set on "flat" and the source should be vinyl. You've never actually heard "music" until you've listened to it through a superior, high end audio system. Also, you don't have to buy this equipment new. You can find a lot of amazing older equipment, for a relatively small sum, online.”

As for Israel, the Jewish State was exercising its right to defend itself from indiscriminate attacks on its civilian population. It appealed to the UN Security Council many times before resorting to a full military operation, but after ignoring so many rockets and being ignored so many times by the international community, it had to fulfill its responsibility to its citizens to defend them from rocket fire.”

There is a HUGE (meaning influential) lobby representing the interests of Israel, in Washington. Why is it bigoted to be against a group who does not represent America's interests? Do you really think the zionists give a dam* about America? All they want are for us to be Israel's protector and provider, giving them technology, weapon systems and training. Why are they here?
