John McCain On Marijuana: 'Maybe We Should Legalize'

“Choose a philanthropic activity. With so many health issues plagueing your entire life after 65. This could leave a respectably humane Legacy to a prescription-drugless YOU that found solace in an illegal drug that invokes delusion and inability to view reality with competent accuracy.”

“PATRIOTISM ...love of one's country ... is a vanishing virtue, buried in the dour rancour spewed by the worthless insensitives who 'bite the hand that feeds them'. It all began when the idea of "dying for causes" replaced "living" for purpose, "the pursuit" of national pride and "happiness." Where did this ALIEN attitude originate? We at one time ascribed it to the DUMPSTER of shameful history and sallied away thinking it permanently buried but someone dug it up and spread its rotting stench over our children... We MUST stop them NOW, or all that willl be left is the usurpment of our HERITAGE by the hateful, insane, primitive ignorant. There should be qualification of our willingness to share....”

Obama To Address Drones, Gitmo In Security Speech

Commented May 23, 2013 at 15:38:43 in Politics

“Never mind "harsh conditions of imprisonment"! These murderers are due to be punished, however that may be done. Gitmo was not President Obama's creation. Liberals abolished the death penalty in some States and some other Nations so capital criminals will not be executed for their crimes but the society which had nothing to do with these horrid people must be punished at the Tax to pay for their safe keep and feeding and Medical care for as long as they live. The judicial system decided they did not meet the Military's jurisdiction for execution so they were packaged up on a foreign pasture, an American defense base occupying a Central American country. Today, The President is expected to "Bell the Cat", a job he cannot relish and does not know how to do. Nobody wants to help him, not the States of origin of these motley miscreants, not the other nations who have the room but have steadfastly refused to allow the murderous criminals on their soils. Of course, that is to be expected. Most have their own problems so the doubtful security of these countries make harboring a mass of obviously dangerous killers something nobody wants. So the President of the United States looks BAD, for this, and a number of other promises he cannot fulfill in his final Term.”

“While I should say that Food stamps are a god-send to so many people in America, who would have died of starvation, it is a scandalous shame that a Nation as wealthy and innovative as the USA could be so uncaring and irresponsible of 47 million of its citizens while wasting the nation's wealth on trinkets of personal glory of a few who fatten at the Nation's expense (taxpayers) at the slop-tables of hypocrisy, duplicity, and fraud. Sorry! I am NOT a diplomat!”

I believe women can expect much consideration for their role as mothers of newborn children nowadays who want to, or need to, work. You are commendable for not needing to be prodded to responsible action. I am that way too but what I KNOW is sacrificed by others of us is the indispensible experience of interaction with other people who normally NEED our support and who also support US as we work within a common-purpose Corporate Environment. Further it is not kind to assume anyone menial as you did, finally”

“Apparently nobody agrees with my comment. I think Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer is right on the counts that matter: Businesses and Companies need to decide what is best for their performance and product-service integrity; so certain employees need to be onsite for most of the work time. If the business is such that it requires no cooperative effort with no need for interdependent function, then a mass decentralized activity might be possible without harming the creative end of that business. That said, perhaps a compromise could be reached by "spelling" some parts of Staff where hands-on activity is necessary to keep things running smoothly... Not an impossible arrangement. In most environments, it is desirable for employees to know something of working together, a feature of the workplace that has deteriorated, beginning with the early 1960's as the love of "flextime" became popular. The resultant "disconnect" seemed a kind of paradisaical, modern way to work but led to an unmanageable Paradox when unionized agreements were next to impossible to amend on time to avert the creeping disease of irresponsibility and Buck-passing when plans collapsed for some unspecified reason not usual in the closer work environment.”

“The only MEANING behind the importunate, penitential plea "So help me God" is to yield to Higher Authority in common mystical belief, the human admission of POSSIBLE error in judgement requiring the supervision of greater wisdom than we may possess in some unknowable circumstances. It is stridently ridiculous to infer that this "phrase" implies the jurisdiction of Almighty God over any government consortium or Parliament anywhere, except in the minds of fanatics on both extremes of the "religious spectrum". The Judeo-Christian religious philosophy clearly declares "free will"... interpreted by different sects with different words like "agency" by Mormons; "free will" the Arminius seminarians who may in some measure conflict with the Calvinist school who believe in God's fixed Destiny for us.”

“We are supporting women who wish to dress in their chosen styles, very obviously. This is a right not to be denied free and equal women...THAT is the subject under discussion. The issue of church practices inside or outside the walls of an edifice, or the Tax accommodations of governments to any institution benefitting human society in many charitable ways, are other considerations NOT relevant to women's dress habits. Furthermore we all should avoid airing our personal prejudices against churches when such arguments do not have any practical application in specific to the discourse subject. Try not to be confused...Try not to confuse others.... Clear Enough?”

“Nothing wrong with style, cleanliness, etc. In fact that is juse decent, as well as good behaviour, but dress regulation is personal business and smacks of mind-bending. However, that naturally follows from the habit of leading people by the nose or the mind, which is ridiculous in an up-to-date social environment, unless one is in the Armed Forces or Police, wherein visibility by peculiar dress requires regulation for obvious reasons.”
