“I'm very proud of my fellow Oregonians for making this trip. Please support their efforts in supporting the American people by cutting out the middleman and in providing Healthcare for all Americans. If you don't believe in this effort, ask yourself this question. What do Insurance Companies have to do with Healthcare? They are who stands between you and your Dr., if you have a Dr. at all.

A Baucus bill will only insure that insurance companies will have a complete monopoly over us all. Insurance company employees have much to fall back on, house insurance, renters insurance, car insurance, boat insurance, motorcycle insurance and yes, they get you at the end with Life Insurance.

The number of jobs that would be created in healthcare and computer technology are enormous.

If you have a chance to welcome them to your town, take the time to listen. Then please, put on your thinking caps.”

“That's right folks, one more for the record. As Rainbow Phoenix wrote "right of conscience" rule makes this one just many tips of the iceburg. Dubya is obviously tring to see just how many steps backwards he can take our Country. Backwards for Women's Rights, Women's Health, Human Rights and on and on. Post your blogs, then take some action!!! Get on change.org and vote. Under Women's Issues vote up "stop Bush from passing right of conscience rule". This is not just a "Woman's" issue. It affects the right of all Americans and could involve many procedures, depending on who's conscience is being questioned. There are many other issues you can vote up along with this one. Realizing Obama will have much on his plate, but we can't let this one fall through the cracks. I was angry enough to get this on change.org, please take some action.”

Until Women's voices are heard, the war on terror, the war on drugs, the war on poverty and the war on HIV/Aids will never be won. Never be silenced, continue to raise your voice.”

“I agree with this article, Arianna, you always hit the nail on the heada. I also agree with most of the posts I've read. But it goes so much further than faux. Dobbbbs is still talking with a mouth full of acorns, and Brocawcawcaw is still having a hard time prying his hands off the handle of the back door. Getting off the subject for a moment; I had to laugh when during an Obama disucssion, he threw in his plug for Boooooomer and stated, "the people of the sixties who ingested any drug handed to them are the ones standing in the grocery reading labels to make sure what they buy is pure and organic", or something like that. He obviously didn't get in on the microdot or the shrooms and he still doesn't get it. They keep spouting "Obama's promised quite alot, he 'd better deliver". They're obviously having a hard time, even interpreting the "old stuff", like by the people, of the prople, for the people. But we will stand as one, we will stand behind our New President and we will continue to be his boots on the ground. We will make this happen under intelligent guidance. Not intelligent design.”

It will take awhile, if ever to realize that those old ideiogies have to be thrown out the window and replaced not only with new, but with much older ones. “How about our latest Capitalist Welfare Recipients? The confessionals will be brimming with repenten capitalist idiologists. I say walk the plank. Have you watched the latest Congressional Hearings? Sample. " Moody's gave the U.S. Government a AAA credit rating" and on "in the very long term, the rating could come under pressure if reform of medicare and social security is not carried out, as these two programs are the largest threats to the doctor, financial health, of the United States Government's AAA Rating." Seems someone on "your side" had plans to get fat off of the US Government. One of McCainand friend's latest entrepreneurial ventures. Only if Obama wins will that notion stay squashed! I wish more people informed themselves of the sticky mess that we are in.

“your quote wasn't accusing the "repentent capitalists" for the gov't credit rating issue.”

aHamilton replied on Nov 04, 2008 at 14:51:11

“The gov't credit rating is certainly an issue, I'm not sure how its been the cause of republican policy...I am confident its from both parties doing little about an obvious problem that is getting worse.

As for Medicare the main issue is to lower costs...the more private healthcare is, as espoused by McCain, the lower costs will be as companies will compete to provide services...especially versus a system with governement controls, mandates as espoused by Obama.

As for social security, obvious the answer is more taxes, raise the minimum age, and/or reduce benefits. McCain said everything is on the table, Obama said only to raise taxes.”

“When it comes to Prison Guards and their Unions.; They are needed if you work directly for the State of CA and Sheriff's Dept if you work County. Without a Union, they would continue to get screwed on hours, no OT, or cut hours resulting in less pay and benefits. The "scary" ones, are the "new guards" for prisons that have been taken over by private companies. A trend spreading far and wide because of State leaders like Arnie, incompetent. See, more of the same. Privatization of our jails and prisons equals less regulation, higher pay outs from State Government and on and on. Hence new proposition like 5 and 9. More examples of funding by Corporate interests and yet another way to avoid the normal budgeting process.”

mginca replied on Nov 01, 2008 at 02:06:22

“Yes, it was very insightful. We could clearly see the perverse logic based on old and stale ideas so prevalent in British aristocracy. I wonder if Rothchilds take advantage of British healthcare system. But getting back to our continent and her post - the upper classes in this country paid more taxes in 2006 not because of Bush's tax cuts, but because they were allowed to raid our economy. Even when the richest Americans (she does not clarify what she means by that definition) did pay more taxes under Bush, as the percentage of their profits they paid less. So when the crumbs are being thrown in the direction of the misfortunate few, the most fortunate among us, in this country and abroad, are quick to use terms like "redistribution of wealth". I would like to know: what do you call $700 billion bail out of Wall Street when $60 billion of that money, almost immediately, goes to bonuses and compensation for the top executives who are responsible for the financial crisis we find ourselves in? Yes, there is a class warfare going on in this country - the war on the middle class, or whatever is left of it.”
