“Fine. And what other organizations, groups, etc. should we exclude from the democratic process? Hm. I hate punk rock, so I say that any fan, promoter, or member of punk rock culture be barred from lobbying. And I can't stand Ann Coulter fans--so let's keep them from having a voice. Who else? Oh, yeah, anyone who can't spell "parallel."
I'm sure I can think of other groups to exclude. This is fun!”

“"FreeRange".
It is amazing that we in this country don't respect the culture of others...thus the book: "The Ugly American". '
In the Japanese culture - it is respectful to bow to your elders for sure.... It called culture and respect.
I think that most "repels" have no idea that this is merely R-E-S-P-E-C-T and does not lower our statue as Americans in any regard.
We need to get along with people in the world -- "...no man is an island..."
The fringed-loonies are beginning to come unglued in their angry criticisms of the President -- looks like they're just NOT going to get over him.
....and he just keeps 'rollin along". (smiles)”

“I'm sorry but you do also need to blame home owners. No one seems to be taking individual responsibility for spending beyond their means which is indeed one of the primary catalysts of this mess. Millions of people were buying homes they really couldn't afford and then took out home equity loans and second mortgages against them. This part of the story is not getting enough of the focus. Everyone seems to be pointing a finger at everyone else instead of all of us taking responsibility.”

“Excuse me but we have been "flat broke" before and will survive this period also. The sacrifices we should make is to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan as quickly as possible, and for Americans to start saving more. It is not just the (Republican) government that got us into this mess, it is the irresponsible and immoral acts of the financial community, along with individual spending habits, spending more than we make. So lets get the perspective right. What part of that don't you understand?”

I will bet YOU voted for polticians who were bribed by the corporate RETHUGS to maintain the staus quo as it was.
NOW you have the nerve to suggest "rsponsibility" and "across the board" greed and corruption.
Check CSPAN library to VIEW the rhetoric that was used to DENY an impending recession TWO years ago!! The folks in denial were ALL Rehtugs and NOW that it has effected you, you are concerned. Where was your "understanding" back then?
What part of this do YOU not understand> More than likely ALL of it.”

China: iPhone Gets Cool Welcome
Commented Nov 02, 2009 at 22:46:07 in Technology
“One last comment that I forgot. Articles keep quoting the cost without a plan which is just nonsense. These phones get subsidized when you sign up for a contract. The reason they are priced so high is that they are unlocked, so they want to make sure you sign up for a contract with them and not someone else. (Although if you sign up with China Mobile the iPhone is only compatible on their 2G network and believe it or not, many would prefer to have it on China Mobile's 2G network as its the most popular - they even have coverage in the Beijing subway system whereas Unicom does not.)”
China: iPhone Gets Cool Welcome
Commented Nov 02, 2009 at 22:39:53 in Technology
“These articles / reports are very misleading. I currently live and work in Beijing and can tell you that first, China Unicom has done a very poor job of promoting the iPhone and the launch. Second, the iPhone has gotten a great reception in China, there were already over 2 million users before it even officially went on sale here - I see them all over the place. Third, there has been very slow adoption of 3G so far in China as the networks were just put up in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of THIS YEAR due to China's failure to issue licenses until just recently. Most of the iPhones here are the original model, or if 3G only operating on the 2G networks. There is tremendous room for growth and further expansion. The one key area that is / will hold back the iPhone growth is the lack of Chinese language / market specific apps but that should now begin to accelerate rapidly. WiFi will follow soon, but meanwhile, the 3G service is very fast, possibly due to not many on the network yet. My 3G plan from Unicom on my unlocked 3Gs iPhone I purchased in Hong Kong is only $22/month, and is a mid-tier priced plan.”

“You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. There is no 3-4 times price differential, even when looking at the retail price of just the hardware. In fact, when calculating total cost of ownership, up time, usability, productivity, customer satisfaction and far superior support, the Mac is clearly in the lead!”
