U.S. Bobsledder Calls Olympic Selection Process 'Corrupt'

U.S. Bobsledder Calls Olympic Selection Process 'Corrupt'

Commented Feb 19, 2014 at 16:14:08 in Sports

“The US Men's Bobsled Team went throught the same crap working up to the 1992 Winter Olympics. Those in charge of the US Bobsled Federation back then brought in many famous US Track athletes and some pro football players at the expense of no-name team members who had already earned their spots on the team. Of course the thinking was that their speed on the outdoor summer track would translate to speed on a bobsled track -- but needless to say this experiment using world class US Track athletes failed miserably and no medals were won. The only non-bobsledder that worked out well was Herschel Walker and this was a credit more to Herschel as a person than as a world class athlete. My childhood friend who drove the Number 2 four man sled told me about all of the US Olympic Team politics going on and the infighting within the US Bobsled Federation and how many well deserving team members lost their spots on the team for no reason other than US Olympic politics. When the best don't compete because of politics its a true shame and definitely not in the Olympic spirit. May this be yet another lesson to be learned. As it is said, those who repeat the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome are insane. I hope the US Bobsled Federation learns this lesson the second time around?”

“Despite the Far Right's whining about high taxes, under President Obama we are being taxed at historically low rates. If we had followed Paul Ryan's plan we'd currently be in the Second Great Recession. And don't forget that Congressman Ryan is held in high esteem as the smartest Republican to deal with current budget mess -- and I agree that he is the best the Republican's have to offer which makes it even more obvious that the Republicans never had a clue on how to fix the budget or grow the economy. At the expense of the American people, the Republican Party has done nothing to help create jobs or grow the economy. Despite their "Just Say No" approach to President Obama's policies, President Obama has been able to right the deficit, grow jobs, save the automobile industry and get housing market going again.”

“We are being taxed at historically low rates because the labor participation rate hasn't been this low since the Jimmy Carter debacle. It is hard to tax the unemployed. The Republican house has sent at least 20 jobs bills to the senate that Harry Reid refuses to be debated or voted on. He is the party of no.”

“Like others have said, the GOP / TEA Party is quickly becoming a non-viable political party and this is more evidence that they are in their final throws as they fall from the national political relevance. They are quick to forget that they have always used Fox News to propagandize their ridiculous political agenda and warped sense of reality in the United States.”

There is a lot of work to do, before you see them become 'irrelevant'.

Right now, 'dangerous' is more appropriate.”

“This is just the on going and typical narrative that the "Conservative" Tea Party Republican Party has had on everything since President Obama was elected. Until it affects them personally they spout the party line of no new taxes, no civil servants, no teachers, no police, no fire departments, no paramedics, no federal relief, no gay rights, no gay marriage, etc., etc. They are such hypocrites in everything they do. When things are going well for them their mantra is, "I got mine, too bad that you did n't get yours". But when it affects them directly they say, "Where is my handout?" I can't wait to watch these two Republican Senators tap dance on the political talk shows this weekend. This group of right wingers have no real understanding of what the "United States" is and why we have to pay taxes for federal programs.

One more thought, they have always whined about President Obama's place of birth though he was born to an American mother and now they conveniently overlook the fact that their new "Savior", Ted Cruz was born in Canada. If they applied their idiotic logic to the Ted Cruz situation, then Ted Cruz also can not be president -- where are the birthers on this one?”

“Mitt, Please go back to where you came from and leave America alone once and for all. You're just a sore "loser" and you can't accept the 'fact' that the American people would not allow you to buy their vote the same way you bought, sold and outsourced their jobs in years past. Every day I thank God knowing that the group 'Anonymous' outsmarted and stopped Karl Rove and his 'programmers' from stealing the electoral vote in Ohio; the exact same ploy he orchestrated back in 2004 to assure George W. Bush's election. Just think of how many American military and civilian lives have been unnecessarily sacrificed because 'Turd Blossom' rigged the 2004 elections in Ohio. For a "business man" you sure did waste a lot of yours and other peoples' money for a poor outcome. Mitt, you should check your facts before you ever open your mouth in public again.”

Well to all the other devastated states, republicans or democrats, are you going to allow this? You my friend are the rube. Ronald Reagan could not be nominated by the current Republican Party due to it's rediculous arguments and party platforms.
