“I amuse myself thinking of how Robert Byrd suddenly got a gush of energy and it was actually a breath of life from the Almighty. A bigger judgement on the pharisee that is Coburn and his whole wretched party couldn't be better. I don't think a plague of locusts eating up Coburn's Christmas tree and a famine taking away his Christmas goose could have been more righteous. Thank you God.”

They may vote a way that makes you tear your hair out or not vote and makes you want to rip out theirs - but across party lines there is an expectation of being worthy of representing the people of the United States through a basic standard of behavior.

From Cheney's infamous "F you" to Coburn and all points in between be it Joe Wilson the frat boy to Cantor and his tea parties on the steps - the Republicans no longer remember how to be there or why they're there. They don't have the required respect or class.”

That would be a good first step in restructuring activism.”

I have a lot of misgivings about this bill. I also know that I'm one of the lucky ones who woke up this morning with health insurance. I personally only have so much karmic wiggle room to have an opinion when someone holding their breath might be helped. And I know that the air could be sucked away in future due to some bad provisions here. But....that said....

“McCain lost the right to pronounce during the election. It's like he's caught in a time wharp and he still sees himself as the John McCain of 2000...I know that there was a poll of political wonks during the election asking who they'd have liked to see run on the Republican ticket in 2008 and the most common answer was "John McCain of 2000". Arianna Huffington has written about the John McCain who was and is no more and what an unbelievable disappointment that is.

John McCain sold out everything he was and ran the Straight Talk Express on the fumes of a previous reputation. The "Maverick" was no maverick. What he was was a sell out. The man who bore the brunt of character destruction by lies at the hands of Bush's team, the man who had spoken correctly on the evangelical right and the abuse of our system by their abusive use of religion....well in 2008 in a last gasp and last grasp for the Presidency turned around and embraced the robocall of lying smears, cozied up to the holy rollers and in a breathtaking act of disregard for both his own previous beliefs and his ability to potentially lead chose an incompetent and corrupt evangelical hate monger as a running mate.

Somewhere ambition turned John McCain into a ghost of himself and he's oblivious to the fact that he's just haunting the halls of congress and people can see right through him.”

Who's this little performance for? The Republicans already live in his delusional old loser world and the rest of us live in reality. We've watched the party of tea and listened to DeMint hiss "Waterloo!" or Wilson hollering in the middle of a Presidential address. We've watched the healthcare debate unfold with concession after concession to the Goobers Only Party. We've seen it all. They negotiated nothing and obstructed everything when they weren't downright destroying.

And naturally that wasn't pointed out. "nor was he asked by host Chris Wallace". Because Fox has been their bestest friend through out all this. So naturally his job was to produce clouds for the angry old man to shout at.”

As I understand it Jeff, - if I understand it - they did a preliminary vote which indicated 60 votes support. The official vote happens at 1:00 a.m.

“Well first of all, just to be clear, I didn't feign anything and certainly not outrage. There wasn't the ALL CAPS typing of an hysteric or run on exclamation points. And I never said he wasn't entitled to say what he wanted - I questioned the way he was saying it.

You talk -justifiably - about how this is a matter of life and death. Which was kind of my point. The woman just buried her husband. If we take the healthcare debate down to it's very bones of importance it's because it comes down to life and death. So I find it ironic that you're outraged at me for pointing out the life and death that prompted her to write and wondering if that could be remembered - in saying what he's entitled to say.

Fact is though, I myself shouldn't have said anything. I probably came off like a schoolmarm. I didn't mean to. I just wondered if she would read responses and the image in the post was -I thought - unnecessarily remindful of his death rather than of his life's work which is what she's trying to say.

But bottom line I shouldn't have said anything.”

I loathe the woman. Full disclosure I think she's the cheapest form of politician and frankly after the rallies and the "death panel" filth and most importantly the disgusting way she uses her children as props I find I can do nothing but be revolted by the nothingness that she is. John McCain should be run out of office. He's nothing to write home about but he was smarter than picking that.

However you really said a lot there. She is (once you get rid of the threat to our country her ambitions present) actually a very sad case. "creepy, and funny, and super sad" - "like that girl in second grade". That's very decent of you and really human.

And it's her followers that are the problem. But then that's where I get back to loathing her. If she weren't relentlessly lobbying for what she's not qualified for and lying her way through - then the followers wouldn't be a problem. They'd have no one to follow. That sad, creepy woman.

I just don't know. I remember that it wasn't so long ago that we could have a public option or a buy-in. And suddenly at the whim of one selfish little man from Connecticut even those things are gone. I also know that it was worth fighting for. He deserved to be defeated. We all deserved better.

It's also true what you say. I try to remember as I chew on and debate it for myself that I'm insured. I also remember that 1/2 my husband's department was let go 2 weeks ago. We're lucky. For now. Peple are desperate out there and they'll take a 1/2 a loaf and I can't blame them.

I doubt they're in cahoots with fashion designers and trying to drive us all toward naughty monkey pumps. I figure it's usually because I've used some kind of key word that automatically gets the post bumped.

Of course it could also be that they don't love me and they are trying to give me a hint to take my opinions elsewhere. Or the fact that I'm a complete hot head and type really really fast and click without proofing....

“Thanks for the link. I remember reading at the time and wondering why it wasn't a bigger story. Over 200 elderly people died from pure neglect. But then I guess it would require that we have a press. They were probably too busy covering the David Letterman fiasco and the big rally of 15 Palinbots who were outnumbered by the press in attendance - who were going to take Dave down. Whoo hoo. How could old people passing compete with that epic event..

I sound hateful. I feel hateful. This woman is a disgrace and while they were covering her "death panels" it might have been very helpful to see her own personal death panels exposed 24/7. It would have gone a long way in dismantling the little fraud.”
