“Hey, I'm glad you got the care you needed, and I don't mind paying for it with my taxes. Health care for Forces people is important. That's fine. But there's still NO discussion in this article on what it costs provide that, whether the same quality could be provided outside of a gov't-run system, nor is there mention on what it would cost to extend that benefit to all, or even most, Americans.

I didn't say I was against VA care. I was in fact, pretty explicit about not being against gov't-run health care in general. All I did was point out that cost is not part of the discussion for vets, but it has to be for the rest of us. Someone has to take responsibility.”

“Fzet, I am with you on this. I was so angry that Matthews did not listen and respond to the lying Fleischer. I write to Matthews and complained, for all the good it will do. Everytime AF opened his mouth it was to tell more lies about Bush. Matthews should have taken him to task. Perhaps Fleischer could go on the Daily Show? Jon Stewart took Cramer apart last week. We need more truth brought to light.”

“I heard Scott Simon equate Michael Moore with Rush Limbaugh on his Morning Edition Saturday show on NPR and I was stunned. It's his right-wing, misogynist/ageist, machismorahrahsports take on the world that makes me leery about turning on Simon's show. (He even gave us a detailed description of female genital mutilation on one recent show; he has a poor grasp of sensibilities, especially given that children are always listening. -- and no, NPR, it's no help to say, a second before a graphic assault on one's spirit that 'you may be disturbed by what follows' -- it's not enough time to get over to the radio to turn it off. People leave the radio on; children listen; the mother or father goes into the shower while the kids eat their morning cereal; their parents may never know what they've taken in and what's bothering them.)

But back to Michael Moore. He should not be in the same sentence with Limbaugh who exaggerates, lies, blusters, uses emotion to get his fuzzy point across. He blames, excoriates, takes things out of context and puts them out as facts. He is fanatical. Extreme. (How could Michael Moore ever be considered extreme? He's a whistle-blower of a sort. Michael Moore has given us entertaining and informative movies which have contributed so much to the world's understanding of sticky, unsolved problems. With the aim to get them unstuck. Thanks, again, Michael Moore!”

“You'd think if he was going to stand for anything it wouldn't be leaving his fellow POW's in unmarked graves halfway around the world, but no. He's got a long history of sweeping inconvenient issues like who got left behind when he came back under the rug. It's kind of jaw-dropping, but he's been fighting against Vietnam MIA families pretty much since he's been in the Senate. They want answers, he wants them to shut up and disappear.

Of course, you'd think that if he was going to stand for anything else, it'd be making it crystal clear that torture may not be performed by agents of the United States... but no. His authorship of the Military Commissions Act purports to allow the President free reign to redefine torture as anything he wants to make it.”
