“maybe because Americans know that Ahmadinejad is iranian and has always been against israel and jews and all that, they expect him to be a little out there but it would be worse to have another international conflict.
as opposed to the republican party, that are American, yet still act like they don't care about the US of A and its citizens. and even after that, you can't say Obama hasn't been diplomatic with the republican party and all their crazy ideas and hard headed behavior.”

“"It's hearing the rags to riches stories, looking desperately for hope, only to learn about the privileged circumstances, inheritances, benefactors, or rare open doors that led to success. It's hearing these things quickly disregarded as the successful talk about "working hard" and "creating their own luck". It's waking up every day to face a society that believes its own American dream cliches, but that puts no stock in the truth of your own story."
that paragraph is so true... it ticks me off when people say that "you have to create your own luck" when they got a "push" in their lives themselves.”

McCain said something along the lines of "which senator did so and so" or something before saying "that one" but everyone noticed it was the wrong thing to say. it's the same thing with using Obama middle name., it's there and everyone knows it but no one calls him that. seeing the way the GOP rallies go nowadays, it is race baiting, in my humble opinion.”

Who is supposed to buy that crap. I was sure she was going to say "Yessiree bob" or something. I heard them interviewing in Alaska as well and heard not one person sound that corny.
That wink and over exuberant smile into the camera, when they just got finished talking about the sobering subject of the War in Iraq was so surreal I finally thought I had really and truly warped into the twilight zone. Was waiting for the moment to freeze and Rod Serling to come out and pronounce this all a bad trip into the twilight zone.”

“i've worked in various call centers here in the Dominican Republic and i can honestly say that what is provided here is not "service".
most people here can't speak, read or write English and the few that do only excel in one of those, either reading, writing or speaking English. to quote Cool Hand Luke; "what we've got here is failure to communicate" and when you can't communicate properly, you can't provide good service. we try (i include myself 'cause i don't think i'm that good) very hard but ultimately, the costumers get frustrated about the lack of understanding and knowing that the person trying to help you is 1000 miles plus away and can't relate to you, even if that person is trying as hard as he/she can.
i always thought outsourcing call center positions to other countries was a very bad move for those companies, although not financially, but it undermines the relationship between consumer - company.
ps: sorry if some of it doesn't make sense, i usually type thoughts and try to make them as coherent as possible.”
