It looked as if it was going to be close, so instead of voting for Ralph Nader, who I would have much preferred to vote for, I voted for Obama to keep the old coot out of the White House. As bad as Obama has turned out to be, McCain would CLEARLY have been far worse.”

This is not a surprise however, if you were aware of Obama's voting record in the Senate...regardless of the endless lies from the far right fringe, Obama was NOT the most liberal Senator in the Senate (they say that about ALL Democratic Presidential candidates regardless of truth or evidence to the contrary).

40 years ago Obama would have been a dyed-in-the-wool Republican. The only reason he looks "liberal", or even "socialist" as the tea bag tards refer to him, is because the so called "conservatives" have pushed so far to the right in the last few decades, that EVERYONE who isn't them looks like a Marxist Socialist Leninist left wing radical extremist, in comparison. This is far more a statement about the right wing fringe than anyone who falls anywhere to the left of them. Think of it like standing on the North Pole...from there, EVERYONE is south. And so it is with the radical right wing fringe that has gone through the looking glass very very darkly.”
