Democrats Now "All In" On Healthcare Reform

“Funny isn't it how all the media coverage just glosses over the mandate. What will they mandate next? To me it's a question of civil liberties. The auto insurance argument is flawed. Owning and operating a vehicle is optional, living and breathing is not. States are allowed to opt out of the public option, but individuals are not allowed to opt out of the mandate forcing them to purchase for profit private insurance policies with no guarrantee of services in return.
I have no problem with mandates when everyone pays on a regulated scale such as Social Security and receives benefits provided by a government agency regulated and overseen by our elected government. I have a problem with being forced to play the greed game with for profit corporations.”

“The auto insurance argument makes little sense if any.
The purpose of auto insurance is to protect other drivers. The purpose of health insurance is cover one's self.”

Why is Obama Championing Bush's Financial Wrecking Crew?

“I'd like to hear that explanation as well. And if President Obama is more interested in getting reelected than the performance of the duties of his current position then I don't see it as tragedy if he is not reelected. In fact it would seem to be fair justice.”

“Prop 13 helps me remain in my home by restraining property taxes. Are you promoting inflating property taxes in order to pay waste, fraud and abuse by our current administration?”
Pliny the Elder replied on Nov 24, 2009 at 11:58:01
“Prop 13 also allows a tiny minority of Republican representatives to block any tax increase, thus rendering your state an ungovernable mess. Also, if your home is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, you should not be paying taxes on it as if it were worth tens of thousands. That is not how taxes work.”

Weren't we told this meltdown was caused by poor people buying homes they couldn't afford? Seems Wall St. was practicing the same sort of poor judgement without oversight or regulation.”

Will The Unemployment Disaster Be Obama's Katrina?

“Maybe because for some of us it has been two years not just a matter of months. Some of us have been very patient. We were promised change, and the only changes we have noticed are fewer jobs, more homeless, and additional expenses in the form of higher fees and local taxes because our states are in trouble, and now we have to budget for mandatory insurance premiums or face a fine and higher utility bills if the climate reform passes not mention continuing to watch gasoline prices manipulated by the very people we bailed out Things have really changed.”

“He can always bring in Blackwater mercenaries to control the angry masses like Bush did with Katrina. Why should he worry? It doesn't affect him or his friends and their networks except in a positive way. In fact the poorer the rest of us are the more control they have over our personal lives, property and civil liberties.”

Every candidate that I am allowed to vote for will be ask where they stand on Blackwater and other para military contractors and if they have voted or will vote for continued contracts with any type of mercenary they will not receive my vote no matter where they stand on other proposed legislation. Perhaps this is some true reform the citizens of this nation can insist on.”

“Funny how the Main Stream Media and our politicians fail to make any connection Religion now seems to be the sole determinant. Contrary to the constitution of this nation. I don't buy it and I would hope other citizens of this nation continue to question its validity.
This is far more basic. Competent professionals are losing it and no one wants to be held responsible. It's a security question and we are ignoring the real problem which is oversight. Much as we have done with the financial world. Those appointed to oversee like to pass the buck and base everything on radicalism. It's not a question of radicalism it's a question of how competent those charged with oversight perform their duties.”

“The majority of the hijackers were Saudis on 09/11. What sanctions did we take against Saudi Arabia? We released captives from Gitmo back to Saudi Arabia who re-entered the war. Yet we dropped bombs and sent soldiers to Afghanastan and Iraq. Countries that had no part in the attacks in the US.

You don't stop and think that Islam is more widespread than just the middle east and arabic countries. 1.5 billion muslims in the world and possibly 20 million now residing in the US, it's estimated that 40% of blacks in the US are muslim. Islam is second only to christianity in it's number of adherents. They don't all wear turbans and speak arabic.
These are land grab and resources wars at the most basic level. They were only sold to the western public as holy wars for pr benefit. Much like the Salem witch trials were.”
