“Arianna is not asking for, nor do we need, a DICTATOR. She is asking the POTUS to be an empowering personality, and he must do it by ACTING, not talking.

We do need, because we are mostly incapable of doing it ourselves, a uniter. You cannot do this with words alone, and words of en-treatment are less than useless. Despite what you think, the prez has lots of power to act, and then let others respond as they will.

Notice what happens when someone does something. Polarization from the ranks, but they become animated. those who like what happened get bolder, those who don't get whiny and bitchy and insulting. The country has been victimized by this for a decade.

You lose your effectiveness when you DO nothing for the other. You encourage self-leadership when you DO something for others that empowers them.

Leading by example results in everyone learning how to lead themselves, which is the most vital step in the process of social justice. To lead is to practice justice. When all can lead, there is only justice, and no leaders.

We are doing our best to encourage obama. hopefully, we are encouraging ourselves as well.”

“An abusive parent has a captive prisoner and they bully or manipulate the kid into not speaking out about the abuse.

If the kid does speak out the abusive parent invariably throws a major tantrum and tries to make the kid out to be the bad guy.

Its a shame she didn't write her book when her John was alive, he should have been outed for all his wickedness and irresponsiblility as a parent.

A false dilemma is when someone insists that there are only two alternatives when in fact there are infinite alternatives. It is a logical fallacy used by propagandists as a rhetorical device to sway an audience fraudulently with specious reasoning. Its a common device used on fox news.

If the banks were allowed to fail.. the depositors would lose everything.. the FDIC would end up becoming insolvent.. the stockholders would see MAYBE a few cents on the dollar of their investments (if anything at all) & the ripple-effect on the general economy would be devastating.

Even the immediate loss of employment.. the tellers, the low-level bankers.. the guards, the janitors.

The luncheonette across the street... the waitresses, short-order cooks, cashiers... the laundry services & the drivers.. the other vendors.. food suppliers, etc... the tax revenue would dry up, etc, etc, etc.

It's unfortunate that their malfeasance should be ignored (for the time being)... but the alternativeis unspeakable.”

As for the reason of trying to get the banks to lend more money to consumers to presumably generate economic activity, you hear a lot of voices coming out of the woodwork now saying that was never the intention of the bailout. However it certainly was sold to the public that way.”

Steele, besides certain particulars (pro-choice) is a pretty solid conservative. His election as RNC is a signal to GOP loyalists that the whole John McCain/Lindsey Graham drift to the center is officially over. You may not realize this, but the conservatives in the GOP love this guy. we have long realized that the GOP had lost it's way-entitlements, overspending, open borders-and this is a sign that we are to return to the principles of Ronaldus Magnus. The conservative ideals of self-reliance, small government, lower taxes and greater freedom register with most of middle America; when socialism is laid bare, it does not. Mike Steele was not selected for his color, we are pretty much all done with the whole "white guilt" thing and hope that hardworking minorities will quit listening to the race p!mps and grievance-­mongerers. Did you know that Mr. Steele was pelted with Oreo cookies when he ran for LtGov in Maryland? It seemed that the libs thought he was black on the outside but white on the inside-do you get the larger issue at hand here? Unless you are in lockstep with the baby-killing party, you are not a real black (or Asian or woman or GLBT). This from the big tent party of inclusiveness.”
