“Don't underestimate the Newt and his current appeal. He has managed to paint himself as more moderate and intelligent than the rest of his classmates - which granted, isn't that tough with this crowd. I think he probably has the best chance to sway independents his way than anyone else in the Republican party right now.”
“Trolls have to eat too. I don't mind doing my part and helping the downtrodden. I wish they would vary the story though...this whole "I'm so independently wealthy that I have nothing but time" bit is getting a bit old. :-)”
“So, to summarize: (1) you intensely dislike Bill Maher, and (2) you are "2 smart 4 liberals" (catchy). And yet, here you are wasting your precious time on a Bill Maher thread posted on a liberal website. Interesting.
So tell me, do you get a nickel per post you make or per angry remark you incite? I must say, if this is how you make your living, you are indeed "2smart4liberals."”

“he's only got 8 fans, so more than likely he is a tro//. we should stop feeding him.”

“Actually, no. (1) I don't care enough about Bill Maher to like him or dislike him. I am dissapointed that he has celebrity. That is an indication that there are people who actually listen to him and hold him up as credible. That's what I find so sad. Follow me on this one........you can't blame the Cardashians for their fame. Get it? (2) Actually, I'm not wasting my time. I am very happy to report that I get great satisfaction inciting liberals because they are so very easy and predictable. This is what I do for fun when I'm indoors in lieu of watching TV. You see, I am in the enviable position of not having to work. I have secured my future, and at a fairly young age. I live in Boston, my boat is winterized and it's too cold to do too much outdoors. This is what i'm left with. But I enjoy it for the rhudimentary bemusement that it provides me. So here I am. My wife will soon be home and we will go to Fleming's for dinner and then out on the town. But until then, I get to pull these simpleton's strings and watch 'em all dance!
Yes...........I am, GenXx, without question........... "2smart4liberals".”
“Then you are one of those Republican's with short memories? His own party is the one that essentially forced him out of office - guess a few "minor" ethical violations and bad leadership don't look so bad now...considering your other options and all.
Some of us have higher expectations from the leader of the free world.”

“Yet you defended and still rever BJClinton after his numerous transgressions”
“He wasn't fit to be Speaker of the House, what makes ANYONE think he is fit to be POTUS? Ridiculous. They are counting on the American people having short memories, but some of us remember his disgrace, and for those that don't, GOOGLE - I don't believe for one second that he is more ethical today than he was when he resigned as Speaker, and he is certainly not fit for the office of POTUS.”

“as Speaker, he balanced the budget and delivered a surplus. To me, that's presidential qualifications.”
“Proving once more that Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul (regardless of my ideological differences) are the only two Republican candidates with ANY integrity . And unfortunately they are also the two Republican candidates with 0% chance of winning the nomination since the media eliminated them before the race even began.”
“I find it so amusing that states like Alabama (which take in almost double the Fed $$ than what they pay in Federal taxes) are so concerned with gov't spending. Why don't they just cut their own spending and that should go a long way toward correcting the problem. Oh right...because they can't survive without the money that states like NY put in. Hypocrisy in action.”
ArtsyJane on Nov 18, 2011 at 10:55:36
“Right on. Same with Alaska. The poorer the states, the needier, the more to the right. Go figure.
Conversely, states like New York and California, which virtually support the whole nation, are profoundly to the left.
I think that one way to cut federal spending is to cut off in half welfare for Alabama, Alaska, Mississippi, Arkansas, etc. That would really balance the Federal Budget.”
