There is no way to tell someone that they are a bad American, or a Commie or un-American and then expect them to even listen to your point of view let alone side with you.”

“Electric cars make sense in some ways. While the range is somewhat low right now, battery tech will have to improve. The idea of electric power is going to be nessesary. We can make power out of petroleum, hydrogen, wind, sun, etc. What all these sources have in common is that electricity can be made from them. “The season premiere of Family Guy was a wonderful tribute to animation. The Disney thing was spectacular and the classic McFarlane ending revealing an ugly truth was perfect. Veritas and all, ya know. I also loved the dig at Robot Chicken. And the live action Brian and Stewie one-upped South Park's police composite drawing. I am in awe of McFarlane's talents.”

“When I was growing up in the 50's and 60's, eminent domain was used for public projects like highways and schools. NOw it's used for building rich peoples playgrounds. This Republican stuffed Supreme Court did just what we expect of a Republican stuffed Supreme Court, to screw the poor and middle class to support the whims and whimsy of the rich.

We see this attitude everyday How many people do you see protesting anything that helps the common person who has been struggling since the 80's, yes the 80's, since the Raygun administration began to systematically dismantle the middle class for short term profits. Jobs sent overseas, ridiculous health insurance premiums, school tuitions beyond the regular person's reach and a genuinely sick "I got mine, screw you" attitude. Now that they've got that, they want to take people's homes for...for what? Now even the greedy bastards can't afford what they wanted because they broke the middle class, the very thing that was supporting them before Ronnie convinced everybody that liberalism was a bad thing and greed was good.

By the way, I was down in New london this past summer and was on that property. I'm heart sick that they wasted these people's homes without even having everything in place. Shame on the planners (what did they plan?) and shame on the SCOTUS for screwing these people and eventually all of us.

“Now this is a VW I could get behind. That totally electric thing that they showed this week was a weak effort. maybe they're looking to get into that electric car lease program that Renault and Nissan are involved in. Otherwise, that electric thing is a waste.

But this car is a great idea. A diesel/electric hybrid is a great ay to go. VW make some great diesels... just look at what the Audi division has done in racing...i­ncluding the Jetta TDI.

I like the Honda Impact but the hydrogen thing is a problem. It's expensive to harvest. If they get on that problem, it could be viable, but not until then. But cleaner diesel with very clean electricity is great. Now if they could make it a plug-in...”

“I have been a fan of VW for many years. We owned a 73 Beetle, 3 Rabbits, a Jetta and a Golf. They are a satisfying drive. But, I have to question VW's product offerings from time to time. About 8 years ago, they had a concept van that would have been a huge hit, but it was a no. They could have sold tons more of the Vanagon, but never sent enough to the US. And the Polo would sell like crazy here, but there are no plans. How about a diesel hybrid? This could do well on the EPA charts and the marketplace. How about a diesel GTI? They're racing diesels and winning.

From a company that makes reliable Lamborghini's, astounding Bentleys and the phenominal Buggati Veyron, the fastest car in the world (and easily drivable at that), why can't they muster the technology come up with a solution to the green situation?”

“Some have said that this is the media's fault. I have to agree. If somebody has a demonstration in favor of health reform, you can bet that they won't be on TV because they are sane, rational acting people. But the people against reform are acting like children making things up and acting threatening (guns to a Presidential appearance but a few years ago anti-Bush Tshirts could get you thrown in jail) and they get all the tube time. The nuts and crazies get all the attention because they make good TV but that is doing a disservice to the rest of us. How about showing us some real people who need real help in this country instead of showing us the "I've got mine. Screw you" crowd. How about showing us people who stick to the facts of the conversation instead of those who like to change the subject to, say, immigration. Every industrialized nation in the world has some kind of universal health care, We, the United States of America have the same healthcare as Lethoso. If you're lucky, the medical truck will come to your neighborhood.”

The Repubicans are forgeting that history is now on video. We know what happened because we have seen it happen.

One thing is abundantly clear, however, and that is that the Republicans have absolutely no talent at debating. They will say anything to cloud an issue, like talking about the President's upcoming speech to students when the real speech is the one on healthcare and these clowns don't want you to hear what the facts are.”

“There are a couple of relatively recent interviews that DS has done that shows she is not up to this task.

One was her interview with the Dixie Chicks after their famous line, "We're embarrased that George Bush is from Texas." The three women talked quite openly about their politics and the troubles that were laid at feet including their music banned from Clear Channel stations and even death threats. And that they still felt the same way as when they said it. But DS didn't get it or maybe she wasn't listening, but she kept asking "What were yu thinking?" as if she were their mom.

The other was an interview with the porn star Belladonna, who claimed that she was a victim. DS bought it hook, line and sinker. Belladonna is still working in the industry and is in fact, one of the most popular porn stars today.

If she couldn't handle these entertainment people, how will she handle Washingtonians who calculate their words like the pros they are?”
