Nation's Largest Union: Change Health Care Bill Or Else
Commented Dec 17, 2009 at 18:16:24 in Politics
“I agree, but how are you going to achieve any of those things short of a revolution? In the meantime, can't we just cut the deal and pass a bill?”

“If we pass this we won't come back to it for a generation. We should not pass a bad bill. We have too many of them now. Lets start over with reconciliation in mind.”

“I think it is time to stand up. Washington is owned by corporations. I think it is not only going to be the left but also the tea party right that may eventually get together to get our nation back. We must have campaign finance reform. We must make it illegal for anybody to give a politician money.”

“The cost of healthcare will naturally drop under this plan because everyone will be covered. No more days of going to the emergency room without health insurance, and driving up the cost for everyone who does have it. Howard Dean is a liar, and the president never advocated for a public option during the election, but rather he debated in favor of lowering cost through federal subsidies. This senate bill makes sense.”

First, there is no doubt that this is a solely moderate White House. Second, this is a sharp break of the White House from progressives. No fighting for a PO in this White House. Cut the deal, so says Rhambo, give things up.
In the end, though, progressives will not be happy, and nor will their polar extreme, the baggers. So I say, cut the deal, and get it done.”

“Is it irrational for the American people want fair, comprehensive, affordable - STATE OF THE ART - health care coverage as congress decrees for itself?
Is it irrational for the American people to want to be able to have a financial institution that can be trusted to handle their hard earned money in a manner that is both ethical, regulated, and secure in protecting OUR interests, rather than using our families financial futures as fodder for the kick-backs that recycle between OUR elected officials, and the BAIL OUTS THEY USE OUR HARD EARNED MONEY FOR, that they hand over to the BUYERS of OUR representation, that ends up yet again, back into the hands of our elected officials?
You want to "get things done"? How is a betrayal of the people's trust - "getting things done"?
Tell that to the guy who is reduced to doing FUNDRAISERS in order to AFFORD the life-saving surgery he needs because his insurance industry has decided that his condition won't be one of the things they choose to COVER.
Tell it to Robin Beaton who was thrown into a cataclysmic financial tsunami, while the insurance industry sat by, watching her DYING from cancer, because they didn't feel like paying out on her claims - that she had invested THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS PAYING FOR, which - after collecting thousands of on-time premium payments from Robin and viewing Robin's condition, they decided to dump her off their rolls.”

It doesn't matter that Jay Rockefeller turns his anger on the people who actually want health care reform and away from the ones blocking it. It seems to me that he is the one who is deluded. It is time to crank up the heat on these guys. Why let Joe Lieberman have all the fun?”
