“One of my military friends said that the top military brass think repealing DADT has to involve retrofitting ALL military bases/ships/etc. with separate restroom and shower facilities for gays. They say it's for the same reason there's separate facilities for men and women.
I don't know if that's what the hold-up is...but I can totally see old military guys thinking along those lines. The gay version of "jim crow" laws...great.”

“For the same blessed reason that he just can't "get out of Afghanistan." He has a whole military culture that is against him. There are military officers pushing him hard not to do this. He still must attempt to walk these fine "political" lines in order to retain the respect of advocates of both sides.”
