“WOW! I always had this thought that we could dispose of lots of trash by having it melted down into core molecules by the lava in a volcano... NOT after seeing this! Looks like the Volcano was very upset and produced a TON of smoke (Global Warming pollution) into the air- YUKK!”

“Actually, I have thought of that idea, too!

It would be great if we could inject our garbage deep into the Earth and have it melted by all of that great molten magma.”

Memo to Neil Young: Higher MPG Standards Are a Good Thing

Commented Dec 19, 2012 at 06:19:23 in Green

“The problem won't be solved unless China and Asia join us in a coordinated, well planned global effort that covers ALL sources- e.g. burning wood, torching forests, etc.

Just attended the international Peak Oil Conference at UT austin and the RESULTS ARE GRIM!!

China took just 5-7 years to ADD the CO2 emissions of the USA in coal alone.
China is building a new coal plant every 5-7 DAYS! Their emissions, unchecked, will exceed that of the USA and Europe combined, by a broad margin, as their oil demand goes through the roof. Problem is, there WILL NOT be the production capacity to meet that demand, price of oil > UP!

The outlook is horrific.”

Memo to Neil Young: Higher MPG Standards Are a Good Thing

Commented Dec 19, 2012 at 06:07:49 in Green

“These discussions are flawed, as are the projections to 2025. !!

Holy cow, if we don't start producing fully electric cars in 3-5 years as the primary fleet, we're nuts.

They're already here and the breakthrough batteries needed are just a few years away.

We are a pyromaniacal society, burning every hydro carbon. WE MUST STOP BURNING SHIT!

Once you go electric and power your car at home with solar panels, then to blazes with "MPG"...”
