“Nationwide non violent demonstrations look better and better to me. Is there anyone ready, willing, and able to pull this together? This is the only way that the voices of those of us on Main Street will be heard, by forcing Washington to listen to us.”

Joe Sestak, Senate Candidate, Starts Taking On Democratic Leadership

Commented Aug 25, 2009 at 21:55:52 in Politics

“Joe Sestak ought to be knocknig some sense into the heads of the blue dog Democrats, Harry Reid, and all the other Democrats who are wavering over the public option plan. We the rank and file Democrats should give the nay sayers an ultimatum. Health care reform with a public option or the entire group of rouges booted out of office, begining with Harry Reid no further discussion. If the Democrats continue to ignore the demands of the majority, we WILL ignore them when we get into the voting booth. We ought to be calling on all of them to give up the health care plan they are currently enjoying (which is similar to a public option plan.) They surely are not complaining about their coverage which is paid for by us taxpayers.”

Truthfully this health system is so messed up adding anything to it is probably a disaster. They really need to blow it up and start from scratch . Single Payer.. it's the cheapest and less wacky to run. One set of forms, one payment plan for doctors, one computer system. blah blah blah . oh well that will never happen.”

Commented Jul 29, 2009 at 23:22:01 in Politics

“The Democrats including the" Blue Dogs" must be put on notice. Deliver a public option plan to the 83% who are expecting nothing less or be voted out of office. If the Democrats allow these Blue Dogs to influence their final decision, then all we can expect will be the Rethugs version of health care reform, which essentially will favor the pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, and the other rip off artists. We the general public will remain the laughing stock. We must be prepared to fire the entire lot.”

“Smacks of corruption. The usual behavior of the "corporatocracy," robbing the poor to enrich the wealthy. This tactic is practiced in third world countries as well as here at home, and the culprits are absolutely shameless. The Geithners, Summers, Paulsons, Bernankes, and company make a study of it, and carry it out without cumpunction. Too bad the President has these very crooks as his "advisers". Waiting for transparency will be like waiting for Godot.”

Shattering the Right vs. Left Prism Once Again: The Wall Street Journal Goes After Goldman and the Bank Bailout

Commented Jul 18, 2009 at 20:21:37 in Business

“What a shame that the President is allowing himself to be railroaded by Tim Geithner and Larry Summers and closing his eye to the "Looting of America" by Goldman Sachs. Seems to me that the behavior of the Wall Street crowd has yet to be changed, with greed and corruption still as its hallmark. The reluctance of President Obama to fire Geithner and Summers baffles me, in the meantime, Wall Street continues to run amok.”

petridish replied on Jul 18, 2009 at 22:15:42

“He was not railroaded, he was compromised by the money men.

I knew we were doomed when McCain had Phil Gramm and Obama had Larry Sumners..... both fierce advocates for repealing glass-steagal.

This is why I vote 3rd party.

The only differences between the parties is who gets the $$$$ from the power brokers. It is really quite a simple formula, they give money to whomever is in power so their interests are first and foremost.

Obama is just a politician.”

“My question is why is it so difficult to give us the plan we are all clamoring for? During elections we give these people what they ask us for, our votes. Why the difficulty giving us what we are asking for? We NEVER voted for lobbyists. All we ask is for the public option plan. Why do the lawmakers think that the plan we are asking for and will be happy with, is not the plan we need or is it good for us? Let's make a note of how they vote and return the favor when they come up for reelection. Vote them out of office.”
