Rand Paul: Unemployment Benefits Extension Would Be A 'Disservice' To Workers

Rand Paul: Unemployment Benefits Extension Would Be A 'Disservice' To Workers

Commented Dec 9, 2013 at 02:01:30 in Politics

“Really/ Do you attack people who make claims after an auto accident too?”

fibs4libs on Dec 9, 2013 at 02:25:10

“Comparing those two is a stretch to say the least. Making a claim on your auto insurance will increase your premiums, so there is a disincentive to abuse the program; conversely, those who make "claims" on unemployment benefits do not pay more on future paychecks, which provides incentive for "abuse" since recipients are financially encouraged to not earn income.

Also, employment is a near necessity for able-bodied individuals, whereas auto insurance is only required for those who wish to exercise the privilege of driving, and unlike unemployment, you can shop around for the right policy.”

“I’m so happy to see my tax dollars go toward something worthy like unemployment benefits and health care. I think it’s awesome how we Americans can come together and never let a fellow citizen go down, how we’ll help our brother before we’ll grant corporations sovereignty from government by the people and for the people.
Dreaming on: GWW”

“I think that continuing to give corporations such huge tax breaks so that most pay virtually nothing while sending American jobs to Communist China that destroys American jobs, families and everything that makes America so great would be insulting to calling it “a disservice” when it more accurately describes treason.”

“Ok I get your drift.
I was thinking about the fact that the Khans never conquered Constantinople.
The Khans were also known to converted to Christianity or Islam.
One city that was never given any mersey by the Khans was Baghdad which was totally destroyed and all inhabitants were slaughtered.”

“The Great Khans? What do you mean by that?”

Cacey on Dec 8, 2013 at 18:46:37

“Ghengas Khan -- don't get me on the spelling -- and his sons had conquered much of the world well before the Ottoman Turks set out on their ventures.  In fact the Khans ruled most of mainland Asia north of the Himalayas and into Europe.  Their policy was one of adaption of people who submitted to their rule without changing their religion or harming any of their cities.  In many ways, it was Ghengas Khan who set a pattern for the Ottomans though the Muslems who conquered North Africa, Iberia and Southern France even before did much the same.

“If you count the millions of lives that have been saved from curable diseases, healable ailments and death at 60 on a cold park bench then every red cent paid was well worth it.
What do I call failure?
How about the trillions wasted on all the wars from Korea to Iraq that killed millions of people and gained us nothing (except the botched but justified war in Afghanistan).
Yup, I’d call those wars colossal failures.”

“OH, LET ME DO IT FOR THEM.
Thank you "President" obama for lying to the American people and telling them that they could KEEP their insurance policies if they liked them. Also, a big thanks for lying about being able to keep their Doctors if they liked him. And a GREAT sideline is that the replacement insurance that they're being forced to take is costing 2, 3 and in some cases 4 times as much as they're paying presently for the insurance they like that they're being cancelled from because of obamacare. Yeah, thanks clown.
Now this coming year there'll be another 80 million people that I'll say thank you for when obamacare cancels their insurance and doctors.
Think there'll ever be another democrat in elected office again?”
