“As a church going conservative, I can tell you quite frankly that that's not it. Christian conservative children are not kept in the dark about "the existence of GLBT people". If they were then the christian-conservative populous wouldn't have anyone to carry on their side of the debate on gay marriage and rights, etc.
As the article above stated, "The bill has drawn criticism from some churches and conservative groups that argue such instruction would expose students to a subject that some parents find objectionable." All that means is that those parents who do not wish their children to be taught that the GLBT community is moral, correct, and healthy- because they have different beliefs. How would you feel if California law dictated that children had to be taught history classes with bible stories and religious messages in public schools?
The conservative christian community simply asks that we respect the parents of these children and let them decide in the privacy of their own homes on what to teach their children with regards to the GLBT community.”
