“The beginniing of my comment just wants to point out that the people need to be represented to better reflect the population. This ties to your comment that real people can't afford to run. You are right yesterday. Today Obama has proven there are other means to raise money if the people believe in your message. Most times as you know candidates are backed by big money to gain them influence, etc. This ties back to casting a proper vote, like you say understand where the candidate stands. “I am really bored in watching and listening to old white men and women spew what they think will be best for the country, when they don't know what is best at all. Its time to get some younger white men, women, asian, black, latino mixtures in congress who are actually in touch with America. The President elitist? The congress is elitist and we know it but do nothing. When its time to vote we need to make a strong statement to congress - Do the people's business or be voted out. I don't care if you're Democrat or Republican, if you are doing the people's business then you are doing your job. Our congress has sold America to any foreign country willing to fill their (congressional) pockets and we have not held them accountable for anything. Jobs? Congress knows where the jobs are...they've been sold to the highest bidder. Let's get these old self serving folks in congress OUT!, and vote people in who live in our reality.”

“>I am really bored in watching and listening to old white men and women spew what they think will be best for the country<

I don't think age has much to do with it, GunnyJ. Nor does race. Both idiots and thinking folks come in all ages and colors. Much of the blame for what's happening now falls on voters who simply cast their ballots for legislators without bothering to find out where they really stood. And some of it falls on President Obama for allowing this whole battle to drag on for as long as it has.

>Let's get these old self serving folks in congress OUT!, and vote people in who live in our reality.<

Most "real people" probably can't afford to run for office. And we who would support them are now in positions where we can't offer them much in the way of financial contributions.”

“I think the Republicans are more to blame than Tim G ( and Summers). Asisde from the bonus fisaco, Wall Street seems to be rebounding. Yes, there are factors to debate such as was Main Street forgotten, but this were the Republicans and state and local government come in. Did the stimulus money reach its intended purpose in all states? I know some states have used the money to balance their budgets, not the purpose of the package. No MSM reporting on this and yes the WH has managed to get some success stories out there, but I believe monies have been held up and re-directed to foil any WH success for the people. After only 11 months do these people need to be fired? Have we given them a fair chance to do their job? Who is REALLY going to do any better based on the facts of the situation? I may be wrong, not the first or last time, this is how I feel abouot this...”

Republicans are only interested in your following and not your quality of life. If they cared about you, they'd be able to offer a plethora of ideas and methods to take care of Americans. “In many cases state governors and city mayors should have to account for the distribution of stimulus money received. From there, congress should be held accountable for not working with the administration to stem this problem. Further, congress needs to stop pointing fingers and start legislating against businesses and banks who are not stimulating job growth and lending. A powerful organization like the NAACP should be providing ideas and solutions that may point a way for everyone intead of moaning and groaning. Times are hard all over. Let's trade-in this neagativity for some good old American ingenuity so we can all benefit. The President is not the problem. This is a case where solutions can begin from the bottom(local to federal) up...”

“AFL-CIO and the NAACP had a conference just this morning.
IMO, Oh, they're covering all landscape on the Job Creation Initiative front. These folks are not playing one bit. Deficit Hawks, Obstructionists, Economic/Financial Robber Bartons, Wall Street, Back Street etcs., better wise up or run for cover. They have missioned themselves to get to the heart of the economic issues that MAIN STREET un/underemployed did not but forced to incur. They want everyone like minded to get on board to create sustainable "real" jobs, both service and private.

They feel undermining workers is the worst thing to do-ever. They are unbridleing energy to scale their efforts to "ABATE" these economic issues of all Americans.

What I concluded from this meeting is an Urgent call , To do nothing is the Worst action plan, but Solutions must absolutely, unequivically be exhaustive... in Job Creation Now.

No, hyprocrasy tolerated, they will advocate on behalf of all Americans that Congress legislate... Strong Re-regulation in order to provide Productivity & Good Middle Class Wages that ultimately stagnate and slow wage growth and future job cuts.”

Obama Job-Creation Efforts Not So Direct

Obama Job-Creation Efforts Not So Direct

Commented Nov 09, 2009 at 15:08:10 in Politics

“Is it me or are many jobs leaving the USA (for good) faster than you can email your resume? Let's face it, smart businesses are using this economic downturn as the mask they need to out source jobs overseas and restructure positions here to make it hard to be qualified or take the pay cut for the postion you used to hold. While the Obama administration is a player in this need to create jobs, the vaunted PRIVATE SECTOR needs to step up to the plate as well. Much of this stagnation with the creation of new jobs and training for these jobs is held up by ideology in that companies rather defy policy by "holding out" than do what is right for the good of the people. In bailing out banks for instance, it was the right thing to do, but once they got what they wanted they turned their back on everyone else. Finally, we have to wake up and realize that as workers we have to retool and retrain ourselves for the new job market.”
