“If a balanced budget is Constitutionally ordered in Indiana, why would Mike Pence get credit for a balanced budget. Doesn't the credit belong to those who amended the Indiana Constitution? Wouldn't a balanced budget be a given no matter who is in charge?”
“The Benghazi obsession is just another attempt by the right to avoid looking at their failed policies and failed presidential candidates and instead continue to blame voter fraud and political spin by the administration for the outcome of the 2012 election. Simple.”
“When Meet the Press is #1 in the ratings, it can afford a host that puts politicians on the spot by highlighting downright falsehoods and making guests face their intellectual honesty. As it stands now, MTP is simply stuck in the Fox News Effect. They are desperately trying to avoid the "liberal media" tag by never upsetting the extreme right. They haven't caught on to the very obvious fact that the "liberal media" tag was meant to shut down the opposition to conservative thought or actions.
The new breed of extremist politicians that never have to leave their comfort zone and answer tough questions, for example Sarah Palin, have left MTP believing that they need to bend to the whims of the nuts and tread lightly when in reality the only move left to make is to start debating real issues, like the size of government. Start educating viewers. Start calling out flat out lies. Start putting lying feet in a ceaseless fire.
The weak position of the show presently does not bode well for any kind of effective change. If they had the guts to promise to revolutionize Sunday TV by truly getting tough, they might draw views. They could definitely get some viral buzz that would bring viewers. Alas, NBC news is too frightened of calling out liars on both sides of the aisle out of fear that they might not be liked.”
“When will the laws and the consequences catch up with how most Americans feel about animal abuse and cruelty? Why are animal abuse, rape, and child abuse treated like a one-time mistake instead of a red flag to remove a person from our society permanently? No one abuses an animal, a child, a woman just one time. Let's decide once and for all that men are protecting men, the vast majority of abusers in these cases, and put more women and enlightened men in office!!”
“The normal rate of store closings over the last 10 years is 20 per year. They closed 30 this last year AND they are building some new stores. That is not a major jump. It is a tempered, reasonable response to a changing economy. You stated that "the store is in the process of closing its doors." That is fiction. That is demonstrably FALSE. No matter how you spell it, you got it wrong. Many of the locations are seeing promising sales gains. JCP tried to change the retail business model, and I bet you are one of the consumers that whined and complained. They go back to the old school way of enticing consumers and you complain. It's called intellectual honesty...try it sometime.”

“This subject has been exhausted and is closed...for me. Enough.”
“What is wrong with you? They told you the price it rang up at. Why would they charge you a different price than the one that rang up? If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts....your post is the most ridiculous thing I have read on the Internet today. That is a high honor! They did everything they could to do right by you and you still weren't happy. You are the kind of customer that should stay in Walmart.”
“They are building a beautiful new JCP store out here in Gilbert, Arizona. Oh, and several other stores in Arizona are doing great!! Why don't you talk about something you know about, Angelika. Stop rooting for failure when thousands of employees are involved.”
FrAAR on Mar 21, 2014 at 08:14:55
“...and why in the world do you think I am rooting for failure??? That J.C.P is closing its doors in many states is a fact, not a fiction.”
“They are not SCAMMING customers. They are pricing to make a profit and providing coupons and discounts to give the customer what they claimed they wanted. It's easy to see through all this propaganda if only you would try!”
“Huffpo has a major Boehner for JCP bad news. They dig up old stories just to squeeze a weekly bummer story out. The JCP story is fascinating. They hire the Apple guy who sees the racket that retailers have to go through to entice shoppers and he gets rid of said racket. Shoppers revolt!! Apple guy gets tossed out. Old guy comes back, puts old system back in place, shoppers return. A few employees tell tales about the system that was put in place because of the rejected, MORE STRAIGHTFORWARD, previous system that consumers rejected. Consumers told JCP to trick them with pricing so they can "feel" like they are saving. Classic Huffpo....it's almost like someone at Huffpo has an interest in JCP failing....hmmm. Did somebody buy some put bets that aren't paying off?”
“Oops. Thanks for the correct. I meant to say Laughlin in the union state of Nevada, and I started thinking about fun times in Vegas. :) I agree that Vegas has good service. Laughlin is a combo of union help who do not depend on tips and very little competition. That was my point. The service is over-the-top HORRIBLE there. I worked for tips and I made a killing because I knew where the butter for my bread was!!”
Knute on Mar 12, 2014 at 12:39:07
“Could be true that service in Laughlin sucks. I've never dined there before. But I doubt that it has anything to do with whether or not the labor is unionized, since most Vegas restaurant workers on the Strip are unionized too, and you acknowledge their service there is generally excellent. More likely its bad management at relatively few (no competition) locations.”
“Your definition of "patriot" is so different from mine. These CPAC speakers are not doing anything brave or patriotic by speaking up for the most powerful. They are not making any attempt to avoid propaganda and deal in truth. The ONLY patriotic thing I see is dissent. Everything else is dishonest, propaganda-fueled, agenda driven, ideological red meat, and in Palin's case, the worst case of "Sore Loseritis" the world has ever seen. Her "whining" about her treatment in the media is so tired. She wants to claim that free speech moves beyond the Constitution into protecting every word (or whatever it is Palin uses) she utters from criticism or comment, yet she cries and whines when the free media does not bow to her "wisdom," or does not see the "truth" she thinks she speaks and calls out her blatant hypocrisy. She NEVER goes outside her propaganda bubble where she has to defend her words or ideas. She treads carefully inside the bubble of bile and intellectual dishonesty, and the worst part, she does so knowingly.
A patriot does NOT allow themselves to be propagandized. They question everything, ESPECIALLY the information that confirms their beliefs. These CPAC folks are not labeled patriots in my dictionary.”
“It's simple. Can we run these programs with zero abuse? no. Is that a good enough reason to let people in need starve? no. Devote more money to ferreting out abuse and quit lumping everyone that may need a hand up as a taker.”
“These pictures were likely taken by a replenishment employee with an agenda. The state of the stores in these photos looks more like post-Black Friday before the store was cleaned up. There is no signs of customers in the store in most of them. That means they were taken after hours. A "Go back" cart as pictured in one is a normal part of procedure and is used on a daily basis to clean and reorganize the store between open and close.
I swear Huffington Post is out to get JCP. Someone in charge of content put a lot of money into JCP's failure and they are trying to contribute to it. The company had a decent holiday. They are moving all the old merch, from the failed plan, through the pipeline and reorganizing. I think they have a bright future. And, my local store is pristine.”
“The suffering. The pain. The terror. The torture.
Join the vegan movement. Grow a heart. Please.”

“It's a matter of priorities, really. My feeling is that while there is still human suffering, we should make ending it the top priority. Whether you believe in creationism or evolution, this is true. The Bible says that humans were given dominion over the lesser animals, evolution says we survived because we're the fittest. Take your pick.”
