Do you want to pay for people to get ER care or clinic care?
Do you also want to also pay to keep the insurance companies rich?”

“What is there in this bill to stop the insurance companies from charging obscene fee to insure "high-risk" people? Nothing. THAT is why we need the public option. THAT is why the insurance companies are backing this bill.”

Okay, by the same token, if you have a driver who smashes his car up every time he gets behind the wheel do you think he should pay the same premiums you do?
Public option means you pay for someone else's health insurance in addition to your own.
Insurance companies are backing this bill because of the clause that says every American has to have health insurance so they will be signing up millions more people.”

“The health industry acts like a cartel setting their own prices - high. We need to have universal health care available to everyone. I'm tired of helping these insurance thieves get rich. They are obviously not interested in our health. To insure the actual sick and the old cuts into their bottom line.
If we require them to insure actual sick people, they will charge outrageous fees for "at-risk" people. Eventually we will all be "at-risk" as we age or become sick. What is in that bill to prevent them from overcharging??????? And we will be required to pay it. No wonder they are for this plan.Nothing there has a check against obscene profits for them.
If someone wants to pay these greedy insurance companies a cut of their health care dollars, let them but for everyone else we need a public option to keep these guys reined in. They will also be forced to offer better policies at better rates.
The way it is now is NOT the market at work. It is a cartel.”

Faith healers charge? What a rip -off.
Sounds like these Democrats are trying to please everyone. Usually people that use "faith healing" are way to the right politically. Democrats just try to fight any discrimination and in doing so would also be furthering the use of homeopathic treatment and other less orthodox treatment that perhaps people in other customs may use.
Some would argue that hypnosis, herbal remedies, acupUsually people that use "faith healing" are way to the right politically. uncture or chiropractic care is not medicine..
Even placebos work for a while so I guess faith healing works in the same regard.. By the same token "real" medicine doesn't always work so where do we draw the line?”

“Health Care should be amended to read as"Faith Healing".”

Leo Mauler replied on Dec 07, 2009 at 18:55:34

“No, "Emergency Rooms" is still the Republican health care plan for the uninsured. "Faith healing" is, weirdly, a bipartisan (or in Republican-speak, a "Democrat") proposal for health care reform.

Senator Orrin Hatch, a Republican from Utah who votes with his party 88% of the time (or according to the GOP, a "Democrat"), and Senator John Kerry inserted a provision into the Senate health care reform bill prohibiting medical insurance companies from discriminating against "religious and spiritual healthcare." Since Massachusetts is the home of the "Church of Christ, Scientist," Kerry's got the excuse that he's just supporting some of his constituents, but it is still weird that the new health care reform bill may contain a provision allowing people to pay faith healers using their medical insurance.

Of course, Democrats are even weirder when it comes to unscientific treatments such as faith healing. Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), passed a bill earlier this decade funding a federal agency, the "National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine," with a budget of about $100 million-plus a year to study nonscientific treatments. Harkin has even stated that he's unhappy that this agency spends most of its time disproving treatments rather than approving treatments (does he want the tests to be rigged?)

“I have a friend with Crohn's. She also had a colon cancer scare. She even had a colostomy. Then a reverse colostomy. She always said that veggies made her Crohn's worse. She only ate meat and potatoes until she had a heart attack.
Her doctor informed her that she would now be a vegetarian. Her "Crohn's" is now under control.
I was always anemic and needed painful iron shots regularily. After giving up meat I am fine.”

“A freind of mine has Chrohn's and always said the same thing. It was always meat and pototoes until she had a heart attack. Her doctor told her that now she would have to be a vegetarian or die. Her digestion problems have greatly improved as well as her heart.
Some problems you have could have other causes. If you have used antibiotics they will destroy the enzyme balence in your digestive system. There must be an underlying problem with your digestive system. If your body does so well on meat and dairy, I wonder about the condition of your arteries, heart, immune system, energy level and body fat.
I know that may be everyone is different but most people do better without meat.
What anyone eats is up to them. I did not push vegetarianism on my son or anyone else. I fed him meat. It will be his choice.”

“It is an ideal vision but totally unrealistic. There is no way that meat producers can produce enough meat this way.
The only way they can provide enough to feed our meat appetites is to artifically breed as many animals as possible, systematically and mechanically kill them and load up the meat with growth hormones and anitbiotics. Then they ship it off to fast food restruants that add filler.”

I also experienced detox when all the chemicals left me. I used to need iron shots but when i quit meat I no longer need them. Also now I never worry about food poisoning.
After seeing what animals go through to produce dairy products I may soon stop dairy except from local organic farms.
We are barbaric and in denial about what happens when we "raise" and slaughter animals. I encourage anyone to watch "Modern Marvels" about meat production. It is unbiased but gives a better sense of what is involved that they will let us see.”
