“Look at it this way:

We've already had TWO hot air artists as President (Reagan and GWB), so why not a third? Many Americans are content to let the US sink deeper and deeper into debt and decadence, as long at the mouthpiece in the White House keeps bs-ing them into thinking everything is OK; so why not make it official by electing a bs artist President to preside over another stage of the collapse?”

“Alas, the worst is yet to come, because Obama has turned out to be timid as a leader and is surrounded on the one side by Emanuel who is obesessed with re-election $$$ from big business, and on the other side by Summers and Geitner, who are all about schmoozing with their cronies on Wall Street and could care less about Jo 6-pack on Main Street. Obama is going to need all the big business $$$ for his (unlikely) re-election, because the little people, like me, who financed his victory last year won't have the $$$ or the motivation to help him in 2012. He's turning into a lot of hot air, more like Jimmy Carter II than FDR II. Too bad. We need better, and we are not getting it from Obama.”

“Afghanistan bankrupted the Soviet Union and Bin Laden said the same thing would happen to the US. It's happening. Obama should feel no obligation to continue wasting American lives and treasure to perpetuate Dick Cheney's invasion of Iraq for its oil and Afghanistan for that natural gas pipeline.

Waging war against two countries, to seize their natural resources, was a last desperate act of an empire in decline, relying on a finite, declining energy source.

It's horrifying to ponder where the US would be if Bush and Cheney had instead invested $1 trillion and 200,000 US jobs into finding all sorts of alternative and renewable energy sources; instead of investing those lives and that reasure into grabbing the 2nd largest oil reserves in Earth. But no, like so many politicians, they were beholden to large corporations that want to rape our economy for today, and to Heck with tomorrow.

Unless our leadership changes radically, the decline of the American experiment will continue... Maybe that's why the Book of Revelations makes no mention of a Eagle in its allegories....”

“Like so many Christian hypocrites who really lust after secular power, Bishop Tobin would do well on this Sunday to examine the record of the individual he claims to worship: Jesus Christ, who accepted Mary Magdalene unreservedly and said, famously: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". It never ceases to amaze me how people like Bishop Tobin use their religious positions to exert secular leverage, in contrast to a TRUE religious person, Billy Graham, who counseled all sinners, including a crooked President (Nixon) without passing judgment. He knew what Tobin has forgotten: That Jesus was willing to accept anybody, anytime, who was willing to change his ways, even the robber being crucified on his right, who asked his forgiveness and was promised "On this day, you shall be with me in Paradise". It's hypocritical Pharisees like Tobin that drove me away from the Catholic Church.”

Soliciting s*x in airport mensrooms (Craig)
Sending suggestive e-mails to male pages (Foley)
Patronizing prostitutes in New Orleans (can't remember his name)
Inviting male prostitutes masquerading as reporters for sleepovers at the WH (Gannon)

“A Three Part Solution To a Variety Of Problems Facing The American Economy:

1. Eliminate the "employer mandate" to provide health insurance, thereby freeing up a signification amount of corporate $$$.
2. Enact an AGGRESSIVE domestic jobs tax credit and offshore jobs tax penalty program, to reverse the outflow of jobs from the US.
3. Open Medicare to anyone who wants to join, with reasonable monthly premiums for anyone over 16 and under 65. People who "lose" their employer based insurance would flock to Medicare, thereby spreading the risk pool and making Medicare solvent.”
