“That argument might have worked if this were the only man whose sentence was commuted by Huckabee that re-offended.

"Two members of the state parole board said Huckabee pressured them to show DuMond mercy, while Huckabee publicly questioned whether DuMond was guilty of the rape of a teenage girl. During the presidential primaries, a conservative group aired television commercials in South Carolina featuring the mother of Carol Sue Shields, whom DuMond killed in 2000 after his release."

“They want Cheney to say what he's saying. They just don't want America to be reminded that if Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld/republicans had done their job, we wouldn't be in Afghanistan right now!

Is there anything that Bush/Cheney and the republicans did that actually worked for our country in the last 8 years? Is there one thing they didn't $crew up?

Come to think of it, is there one thing that republicans have passed or introduced in the last 30 years that benefited the people over corporations or the wealthy?

I can't think of one thing! I can't think of one accomplishment from Bush/Cheney that helped our country!”

“I'm with you -- I feel so disappointed in all of the democrats! They told us they needed 60 to get the change for the American people. We gave they 60 and the white house and we've seen nothing that benefits the people over the corporations and the military complex. If this is what we were going to get, how is it any different than what we have under republicans? At least they don't make it a secret thatthey stand for the corporations and the wealthy.

I expected more of President Obama and the democrats. If the democrats are betting on winning in 2010 and 2012 because republicans are in such a sorry shape, they'd better think again! Liberal voters don't follow blindly like republicans! They'll sit it out and wait for another crop of real progressives to come up! The blue dogs won't be re-elected, and it's looking like Obama is a one term president!

What ashame!”

“Republican states and republican districts tend to have the most poverty, and they continue to hold onto the belief that they will someday be millionaires, so they vote for the people who protect the millionaires! Meanwhile, more and more people lose their houses, jobs, lives!

It's really no coincidence that the states in the deep south that are republican red have the worst poverty, highest uninsured, most families living in poverty, lowest income and and worst education. Yet they continue to blame their poverty on the democrats! What ashame that they would be helped by voting out republicans, yet they follow them blindly and believe whatever rhetoric they are told, while they wait for that trickle down!”

Until racism is truly vanquished, the south will be red...or purple at best...Before they latched onto the abortion issue, Republicans were big supporters of "states rights" For those who don't know their American history, that was a major rallying cry for the southern "slavocracy".”

“The fact of the matter is that very little has changed since President Obama took office. He changed nothing that affects these people -- and he's continuing many of Bush's policies. These people are going bezerk because of the color of his skin and nothing more.

We all put up with Bush for 8 years -- I didn't vote for him, but he was the president, whether I liked it or not. They can't give a democrat the same. Deal with the fact that you lost! Deal with the fact that this president is not really changing that much, the blue dogs and republicans have fought him on any meaningful change. He's even escalating the war in Afghanistan, which is something republicans usually love, since most of them seem to be warmongers!

Grow up! If republicans knew how to run anything, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in right now and both wars would have been won by now!”

I am sure if you can prove that Bush and Cheney made money off the war then you should be hollering at yoru reps to go after Bush.

Why do we accuse anyone that is not an attorney of being biased. If a politician comes from FEDEX to Walmart we will accuse them of rigging laws to make money for their previous employment.

It is one of the reasons why we do not like our members of congress except our own because we keep re electing them.

We have way too many attorneys that write bills in legalese when all bill should be written so a person with a high school diploma could comprehend the language.”

“Are you freakin' kidding me? 5 million more people living in poverty were created during the 8 years of Bush, making it necessary for those 5 million people to depend on programs like food stamps in order to live! Foreclosures were up 68% in 2006 -- 2006, WHICH IS THE YEAR THAT Bush/Cheney and the republicans were in charge!

But on the other hand, the number of billionaire went from 186 (holding $816 billion in combined wealth) to 415 in 2008 (when Bush/Cheney were in charge) holding 3.5 trillion dollars of combined wealth.

Republicans create more poverty and create the need for public assistance, then complain about the number of people on public assistance!”

“I haven't paid full price for anything in years! I shop clearance -- and not just any clearance, the deep clearance where it's almost free! I went out on Black Friday and bought only the deals that are meant to get you into the store and help you spend more on other sale items. But I never buy anything but what I went to the store for, and never spend more than what is advertised. We only buy what we can pay cash for and refuse to pay another dime in interest to the banks!

We bought all practical gifts that my children would have to buy for themselves, being newly married and soon to be college graduates! We also researched and tried to buy what we could that was made in America by an American! Not just the American based corporations that ship things in from overseas, but the ones made here in America!

I don't think I'm the shopper their ads are aimed at, but I'm the one who benefits from the prices that are below cost!”

“I have a simple solution to controlling what people eat! Regulate the food industry to only sell healthy food. That way you don't have to worry about anyone buying soda, candy, high fructose corn syrup, processed foods, etc. After all, we're all paying the price for anyone who eats junk food. This way, it wouldn't be discriminating against the poor!

My guess if it affects the profits of big business, they'd never go for it! They'd rather find a way to just make the poor feel more humiliated!”

We used to be the richest country in the world, and the American people all got a piece of the pie! A mother actually had the choice to stay home with her child, which is hardly the case today.
